(UP1) The city commission an nounced recently that the plaza on the Boardwalk in front tit Convention Hall will be named in honor of Iho late President Kennedy. The John F. Kennedy Plaza will have a bronze or ahiini num bust of the late Chief Ex ecutive on a marble pedestal in the center of the rotunda facing the boardwalk. Couple Feted Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Elli son, well known residents of Roseburg, were honored at lovely reception Sunday on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary. The affair was g ven by their daughters, Linda and Kathy, at the Ellison home on West Ber- dine Street. The Ellison's son, Dennis, is residing at Staten Island, N.Y., where he is pharmacist at the VA Hospital He graduated from Oregon State University and is employ ed by the United States Public Health service. North felt that he had bid perfectly, pointing out that the play was extremely lucky. This didn't mollify South at all. He was still mad at North. The argument didn't impress West in the duplicate and West was sure that South s score would be a top. Finally, West could stand it no longer. He said, "If my partner had led back a spade you idiots would not be arguing. South would have made three hearts or pos sihly only two hearts. But now you have a top score. What more do you want?" Beta Sigma Phi. members. Members were served cookies and accompany ing refreshments from a beau tifully appointed round table in the dining room. A large light ed frosted candle centered the table which was covered by a lace cloth over a green found a tion. During the business meeting the members exchanged names for secret sisters. The next meeting will be the Christmas party and gift exchange at the Wiley home. The cultural pro gram taken from items of in' terest in the "Saturday Re view" was presented by Mrs. Neil Christian. Following a social hour, a buffet dinner was served to ap proximately 200 employees, their wives and husbands. Robert Russell, meat supervisor, serv ed as master of ceremonies. He introduced the store managers, the department heads and their wives. . Claren Gove, Marks president, thanked the employees for their cooperation during the year nnd presented each with a gift. He also dedicated the first dance to Mrs. Hubert Graham, who will retire this month.
