W. llarlnn Street was the setting for a lovely quiet home wedding ceremony which united Miss Lila Oclcis and Harry Cook in the bonds of matrimony. Elder Ashley Emmcr, a retired S e v e n t h-day Advcnlisl minister and missionary, officiated. Miss Oclcis foster parents are Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hansen of this city. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Olhol Cook, also of Rose burg. The bride wore a lovely white jacket dress trimmed with black, with while accessories. She car ried a beautiful basket bouquet of red roses and white daisies. The bridal party stood beneath a white arch decorated with vines and white wedding bells. A beautiful white wedding cake, made and decorated by Mrs. Und er and the bride, dominated the tabic which was covered by a lovely hand-crocheted tablecloth. Barbecue Held In Myrtle Creek A family reunion picnic, held re cently in the North Myrtle Park at Myrtle Creek, featured a barbe cue, home made ice cream and games. Special entertainment for the afternoon was furnished by three members of the group, Floyd Ilatton, Billy Pruitt. and Fred Pfcuffer, who played their guitars. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. Billy Pruitt and children of Winston; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pfeuf fcr and children and Bobby Pfcuf fer, all of Myrtle Creek; Delmer Colhuld of El Paso, Tex., a house guest at the Fred Pfcuffer home; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Ilatton and family of Glendale and Mrs. Don ald Robinett and children of Kerr ville. Open House Held The junior high school class of the Elkton Christian' Church, un der the leadership of its teacher, Mrs. Harry Shinkle, held an open house in the basement of the church following the morning serv ices. Class members showed par ents their new classroom which they recently re painted and decor ated. Class members were hosts and served cookies and punch. Tues., Aug. 13, 1963 Carole Stadig Becomes Bride .Candelabra with tall white tap ers and a large basket of glad ioli and roses decorated the altar of the First Presbyterian Church in Roseburg July 27 for the lovely wedding of Miss Carole Ann Stad ig and Charlie Jay White. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stadig of Win ston. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Losson White of Dillard. The Rev. John Adams performed the double ring ceremony at 2 p.m. before a large group of friends and relatives of the couple. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was radiant in a gown of Chantilly lace over white bridal satin, which had been de signed and made by her mother. It was fashioned with lace cov ered satin bodice with sleeves which came to points at the wrists. The full skirt formed a chapel length train. Her fingertip veil of tulle was held in place by a tiara of rhinestones. The bride carried a bouquet of stephanotis centered by a large white orchid. Miss Lorrain Cornett was maid of honor. She wore a gown of chiffon over blue taffeta and car ried blue gladioli. Bridesmaids were Linda Easton of Portland, cousin of the bride, and Mary Exccen, sister of the bridegroom. They wore matching frocks of chiffon over white taf feta with bodice " and skirt em broidered with shades of blue flowers. Their flowers matched those of the maid of honor. Flower girls, Kathy Stadig and Roberta Easton, sister and cousin of the bride, wore matching blue dresses. They carried white bask- Beach Family Enjoys Reunion A reunion of the Beach family was held Sunday at Baker's Bay Park at Dorena Dam. Those attending from Roseburg were Robert and Lela Green and daughter, Patty; Floyd and Rita Wilson, Charles and ueuy mcnois and daughters, Dottie and Cathy. Also attending were Tina Beach, Lulu Beach, Fina Keahey, Dorothy Eastburne and son, Stephen; Frank and Fern Tanner, Gary and Shar on Cooner and children. Katrina and Kerry; Mina and Winifred West and children, Barbara and Richard; Jim and Janet Tobin and Ted and DeEtta Hudson, all from Cottage prove. Audrey Crow, Arthur and Ruth Campbell and daughter, Darlene, all from Eugene; Harry and Ber nice Wilson and sons, Harry and Charles, from Bremerton, Wash.; and Bcsse Asia and children, Ter ry and Merrilee from Newberg. The "Sleeping Beauty" theme was used for the room decorations and for the lovely birthday cake. After the girls opened their gifts, birthday refreshments were serv ed. During the evening, snacks and games were enjoyed. The follow ing morning, Mrs. Goodwin served a pancake breakfast. Lapp and Mr. and Mrs. Don Muir and their four chil dren, all of Coos Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Don Smith and two children of Empire; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smith and three sons of Glendale; Arthur Gaedecke and three chil dren and Mrs. Esther Paulus, all of Riddle; Mrs. Bill Sparks of Can yonville; and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Gaedecke and five children and Jake Fisher, all of Azalea. A special cake was made for the occasion by Mrs. Jack Smith. Dennis Stadig, brother of the bride, was ring bearer. Best man was Noel White, brother of tha bridegroom. Ushers were Leon White, brother of the bridegroom, Mike Easton and Ed Wagner of Portland, cousins of the bride, and Russell Brice. Mrs. John Tucker sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "Oh Perfect Love." She was accompanied by Mrs. Homer Grow at the organ. Mrs. Grow also played the tra ditional wedding marches. The mother of the bride chose a pink brocade silk sheath dress and white accessories. The bride groom's mother wore a shaded gray polka-dotted linen dress suit with white accessories. Both wore corsages of white roses. Following the ceremony, ccption was given in the reception room of the church for 100 friends and relatives. The bride's table was attractive ly decorated with blue net over white. The net was gathered at the corners with large white bows. Candelabra of tall white tapers graced each side of the 3 pil lared wedding cake beautifully decorated with blue flowers and topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom. Mrs. Veva Mintz of Eugene, great-aunt of the bride, presided at the punch bowl. Serv ing the coffee was Mrs. Jcanette Easton of Portland, aunt of the bride. Mrs. Gertrude Brown of Eu gene, great-aunt of the bride, served the cake. She was assisted by Ann Forrest. Mrs. Freda Baird and Miss Bev erly Baird of Eugene, great-aunt and cousin of the bride, were in charge of gift!'-. Mrs. Betty Reber, sister of the bridegroom, present ed the guest book. For traveling, the bride chose a blue silk sheath dress and pink accessories.
