was the setting for a lovely quiet
home wedding ceremony which
united Miss Lila Oclcis and Harry
Cook in the bonds of matrimony.

and missionary, officiated. Miss
Oclcis foster parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Dan Hansen of this city.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Olhol Cook, also of Rose
burg. The bride wore a lovely white
jacket dress trimmed with black,

ried a beautiful basket bouquet
of red roses and white daisies.

The junior high school class of
the Elkton Christian' Church, un
der the leadership of its teacher,
Mrs. Harry Shinkle, held an open

Becomes Bride

of the First Presbyterian Church
in Roseburg July 27 for the lovely
wedding of Miss Carole Ann Stad
ig and Charlie Jay White.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stadig of Win
ston. The bridegroom's parents
are Mr. and Mrs. Losson White
of Dillard.
The Rev. John Adams performed
the double ring ceremony at 2
p.m. before a large group of
friends and relatives of the couple.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, was radiant in a
gown of Chantilly lace over white
bridal satin, which had been de
signed and made by her mother.
It was fashioned with lace cov
ered satin bodice with sleeves
which came to points at the
wrists. The full skirt formed a
chapel length train. Her fingertip
veil of tulle was held in place by
a tiara of rhinestones. The bride
carried a bouquet of stephanotis
centered by a large white orchid.
Miss Lorrain Cornett was maid
of honor. She wore a gown of
chiffon over blue taffeta and car
ried blue gladioli.
Bridesmaids were Linda Easton
of Portland, cousin of the bride,
and Mary Exccen, sister of the
bridegroom. They wore matching
frocks of chiffon over white taf
feta with bodice " and skirt em
broidered with shades of blue
flowers. Their flowers matched
those of the maid of honor.
Flower girls, Kathy Stadig and
Roberta Easton, sister and cousin
of the bride, wore matching blue

ing morning, Mrs. Goodwin served
a pancake breakfast.

ditional wedding marches.
The mother of the bride chose a
pink brocade silk sheath dress
and white accessories. The bride
groom's mother wore a shaded
gray polka-dotted linen dress suit
with white accessories. Both wore
corsages of white roses.
Following the ceremony,
ccption was given in the reception
room of the church for 100 friends
and relatives.
The bride's table was attractive
ly decorated with blue net over
white. The net was gathered at
the corners with large white bows.
Candelabra of tall white tapers
graced each side of the 3 pil
lared wedding cake beautifully
decorated with blue flowers and
topped with a miniature bride and
bridegroom. Mrs. Veva Mintz of
Eugene, great-aunt of the bride,
presided at the punch bowl. Serv
ing the coffee was Mrs. Jcanette
Easton of Portland, aunt of the
bride.
Mrs. Gertrude Brown of Eu
gene, great-aunt of the bride,
served the cake. She was assisted
by Ann Forrest.

erly Baird of Eugene, great-aunt
and cousin of the bride, were in
