Wallace of Alabama; and Ross Barnett of .Mississippi are meeting informally with other governors to drum up support for a plan to block President Ken-' nedy's re-election. The two Deep South governors said they have had several infor-i mal chats with chief executives; from other states on their pro posed "unpledged electors" plan ! Proponents of the move are urging that state legislators amend I their election laws by making a1 "preferential presidential primary" mandatory. Interrogation Due Slaying Suspects HAGERMAN, Idaho (UP1V Deputy Sheriy Vera Royse piannea 10 question two suspects at Burley today about the road side robbery-murder of a Port land, Ore., man near here Mon day night. Tuesday, Royse ordered release of two suspects picked up at Boise. He said he was convinced they were not connected with the crime. Meantime, officers awaited ar rival in Gooding of George Owen, Portland, believe to be foreman of the victim. Officers tentatively have identified the dead man as Richard A. Herald, 31, Portland, but were awaiting Owen's arrival to make positive identification. The victim was found Monday evening in a pickup at a road side park about 2 1-2 miles south of here on U. S. Highway 30. An autopsy disclosed later he had been shot twice in the head with a .22 or .25 caliber weapon. The murder weapon was not found. Royse said he believed robbery was the motive for the crime. Falls Sheriff KLAMATH FALLS (UPD The trial of the Klamath County Sher iff Murray Britton, charged with allowing a prisoner to escape, con tinued Tuesday with selection of a jury and the beginning of the state's case. Eight women and four men were selected to' hear the case. Britton allegedly released a Klam ath area farmer who had been charged by the state livestock in spector with embezzling an ani mal. Charges against the farmer, Fred Bcyincr, were subsequently dropped. Eight witnesses appeared for the state Tuesday. Among them was officer K. W. Wheeler, who arrested Beymer.
