i ... MR. AND MRS. MERRITT RAMSEY, above, were united , in marriage June 9 at the Riddle Episcopal Church of the Ascension. The bride, Karen Kathleen White, is the daughter of 'Mr. and Mrs. Clarence H. White, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Strobridge, oil of Riddle. White of Ridle, and ilerritt Kent Ramsey, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Strobridge of Riddle, exchanged marriage vows in an impressive double ring cere mony which took place Sunday, June 9, at three o'clock in the afternoon in the Riddle Episcopal Church of the Ascension. The Rev. Robert W. Bunnage, vicar of the church, officiated at the ceremony and the nuptial Eu charist following. Altar flowers were white calla lilies with fern. Wedding music was played by Miss Alice Walker. A former vicar of the church, the Rev. Loren Bush of Corvallis, sang "0 Perfect Love." The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a floor length gown of white satin with fitted bodice, long sleeves and hoop skirt.. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a tiara of pearls ar ranged in the shape of hearts. She carried a colonial nosegay of dark pink Frill roses centered with a laree white orchid with a cascade of white . satin ribbon streamers, and . a white Bible. Her ensemble was accented by a diamond neck' lace, a Strobridge family heirloom, Maid of honor was Miss Gail White of Roseburg, cousin of the bride. She wore an afternoon frock of Dink satin and a Dime net neau dress held in place by a pink satin bow. She carried pink roses on silver net with Dink satin stream' ers. Bridesmaid was Leslie Stro- bridee. sister of the bridegroom wearing a costume identical to that of the maid of honor with identical headdress and flowers. Gail biro bridge, younger sister of the bride groom, was flower cirl. also wear ing a pink satin gown, and pink veil headress, and carrying a white basket with Dink lace trim filled with pink and white rose pet als. - Best man was Robert White brother of the bride. Seating the 175 guests were ushers Kevin and Frank Davis, cousins of the bride groom, and Ronnie Weakley, Aco lytes were Jim Dowdy David Clark and Bill Markham. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. White chose a turquoise silk after noon dress with matching blue veil and a corsage of pink roses. Airs. Strobridge, the bridegroom's moth er, chose a pastel print in lime ereen and orange with a match' ing flower hat and a corsage of or ange roses, me Drmegroom s grandmother, Mrs. Pearl Lawson wore a dark blue afternoon dress, a lighter blue flower hat and a white orchid corsage. From here they went to Portland to visit onother daughter, Mrs. Bud (Yvonne) Grossenbocher, and family, ond attended the weddipg of their son, Dele, to Patricia Roe Babbitt of Portland of Faith Lutheron Church. They attended com mencement exercises of Oregon State-University, at which time Dale was graduated with o degree in chemical engin eering. Their youngest daughter, Mrs. Vince (June) Swan son, of Mf. View, Calif., accompanied them on the trip. Wedding Of June 9 was held in the parish hall with the bridal party in the receiving line, exquisite norai arrangements of pink roses and azaleas graced tne tables and were Placed at in tervals about the room. Decora tions for the reception were done by Mrs. Austin Wilson. The ireshraent table held a beautiful four-tiered wedding cake in white with touches of pink and yellow accenting the doves, cupids, and hearts adorning if. A minature bride and bridegroom in a heart of ruffled net surmounted the top layer, ana auove the couple was a small sterling silver cross made especially for the occasion by Rob ert Pickell with entwined silver rings made by Lee Hall to com- plete the cake decor. The wed- ding cake had been baked bv Mrs. A. Li. i.nman, a lamily mend, and decorated by the bride s mother. After the bride and bridegroom naa cut tne traditional first slice. the cake was served by' Miss Joan AicMiuion, assisted by Miss Ann Johnson. Pouring coffee were Mrs, Darrell Carter, Mrs. Jessie Stout, Mrs. E. P. Blundel and Mrs. W, E. Best. Miss Moisclle Morrison and Miss Carmen Waddle served the punch. Miss Peggy Kocrner presented the guest book, and Miss Boxy Clark, Miss Ila Keele and Miss Carolyn McCoy Had charge of the gift table. During the recep tion, Miss McCoy sang "Young Love." accompanied at the piano by Miss Alice' Walker. Assisting with the reception were Mrs. Hein rich Schmidt, Mrs. William Mark ham, Mrs. J. S. Mimnaugh and Mrs. Kathy Roberts. After the reception, a buffet sup per was served at the beautiful country home of Mr. and Mrs. Stro bridge to the bridal party, out-of-town relatives and friends and members of the Episcopal church. Following a wedding trip to the coast, the couple will leave Rid dle shortly for Wichita Falls, Tex as, where the bridegroom, an air man 1c. is stationed with the U.S. Air Force. No date has been set for the wedding. Tenmile Ladies Enjoy Luncheon The Tenmile Ladies Club met Tuesday for a delicious covered dish luncheon served at noon. The women enjoyed a social afternoon of visiting. The next meeting will be July 9 and will be a picnic in the H. D. l.orkwood Park on Lockwoud Itoad in Tenmjle. INewClub Meets Monday Evening The Baldwin Organ Club was or ganized at a meeting held Monday evening at Oak Tree Inn. Dorothy Suksdorf and Alice Broaddus will serve as acting president and act ing secretary until October, when election of officers will take place. This new club will meet the third Tuesday evening of every month at a dessert-supper at Oak Tree Inn. Plans are being made to sponsor concert', seminars and lectures during the coming year.
