Umpqua Soil Conservation Elects Three Supervisors By MRS. C. W. HENOERER The L'mpqua Soil Conservation (roup held it's annual meeting this month and elected Hoyd V. Weatherly and Don Morris super visors. E. G. Dunn wis nominated from the floor, and he and Vieatheriy will serve four year terms. A forestry film was shown by the Grants Pass office of the L'mpqua Soil Conservation Service. Exec utive secretary of the state soil , conservation committee. Bob Baum of Corvallis, wis guest speaker. About 35 attended the meeting. Visits Parents Mr. and Mri. Hap Whitfield and daughter and Jenna Levenhagen spent last weekend in Forest Grove at the home of Mrs. Whitfield's parents. The following high school stu dents from the Christian Church attended the youth convention in Salem last weekend. David iluh hard, Charles llenderer, David Compton. Jennetla Ross. Lois Carnes. Mrs. Norman Compton and Mrs. Howard Carnes drove the students to Salem Friday after noon and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Fisher and daughter drove up Sat urday to bring them home. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Mower and family of Eugene were weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Kellison. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Irl Binder, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shellhammer all droit to Eugene Sunday to attend ntieelcri Square Dance Club held at the Moose Hall. Court Systems' Study Slated For Umatilla PENDLETON" A three-man committee Tuesday said it will launch a study of four court sys tems in Lmatilla County. Dist. Ally. John Walker said the study's results will be submitted to the legislative Interim Com-; mittee on Judicial Administration. The interim group is attempting lo determine if Oregon's court system should be modified. Walker said municipal, justice of the peace, juvenile and district courts in the county will be in cluded in the survey. The study will take several weeks.
