Designed by product engineer Carl Reynolds, the idea calls for a gas turbine engine to drive high pressure air through ducted fans which would not only lift the car, but also propel, guide and brake the auto. And a third was filed by him for another son, Russell, 14. It asks $90,000. The Garland family was riding in one car when the accident occurred. In an earlier suit a jury awarded $86,000 to another member of the Garland family, Roger Garland, 11. Kenneth also is his father. But he denied that Horn was ever for taken to a cemetery or had been Employers Asked To Pre-Pay Tax Of Unemployment The board of directors of Co lumbia Empire Industries Inc., Portland, is considering request ing Oregon employers to pre-pay their first quarter unemployment tax before March 31 in order to push the state fund above the $31 million floor and avoid the maxi mum rate of 2.7 per cent. The maximum rate would takt effect April 1 in the event tha floor sura is not in the fund at that time. The trust fund balance as of Feb. 27 was just over $32 million and benefit payments for the re mainder of the quarter would place the fund at about $27 million on March 31. Addition of the un employment tax, however, would boost the fund above the floor. The organization also listed E. E. Coleman, Riddle, as a member of the unemployment compensa tion advisory committee recent ly appointed by Gov. Holmes. Cole man represents Hanna Coal It Ore Corp. Another Hanna official. L. H.
