Fireman Hospitalized
After Fighting Blaxe
SPOKANE UTi Only one of the
14 firemen injured or overcome by
smoke, fighting a $500,000 fire re
mained hospitalized Tuesday.
Capt. Virgil Deno was kept at
Sacred Heart Hospital while he
recovers from some poisoning and
exhaustion. The fire burned out
five business establishments in the
Riverside and Post Bldg. in the
downtown business district Mon
day. Firemen investigating the two
story brick building Tuesday said
structural damage was not as
great as first believed.
