Buckley of Casper, Wyo, who, while he could receive the TV programs from his local outlet, wanted to be able to view the wider variety of programs offered by Denver stations (225 miles) and others farther away. His immediate problem was 8.500-toot Cas per Mountain, so Buckley, lower left in picture, enlisted the help of three friends to construct this 112-foot-high antenna tower. The tower, including a specially tuned all-channel antenna and control, cost $800 and was completed in Ave days. Hill Wilson, a Casper TV expert, believes that the tower, located in Muck ley's backyard, should receive a clear signal from a radius of 500-000 miles and skip signals from up to 1,000 miles. Holmes Would Include Farm Work As Hazardous PORTLAND UP Gov. Robert Holmes told the Oregon Industrial Safety Conference recently that it might be a good idea to desig nate legally the operation of farm equipment as a hazardous occu pation. The governor also called for a farm safety campaign similar to that which he said had reduced accident rates in industry. Stephen J. Hall. Seattle, vice president of the Simpson Timber Co., told the conference that man agement has the major responsi bility for industrial safety. "If management cannot afford a safety program, it cannot afford to be in business," he said. The conference continued Fri day.
