The ceremony was performed at the First Aethodist Church with the bride's parents and her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Coal pitts, Medford, as witnesses. The bride wore a navy blue suit with pearls, white hat and white accessories. The bride was graduated from Eagle Point High School last spring. The bridegroom is employed by the Dollar-Patterson Lbr. Co. Mr. and Mrs. Upchurch are making their home near the Wunsch Locker plant. (Fox Photo). Jacoby Bridge-Luncheon Charming Affair Thursday Mn. Harry Jacoby entertained at a cfiarming bridge-luncheon at her beautiful home on Fisher Road Thursday. Pink and white cloths covered the six serving tables, which were centered with attrac tive arrangements of pink cacti and pink pom pom dahlias. Ruth Bradley did the catering for the party. Guests enjoying the delightful af fair with Mrs. Jacoby were Mrs. Glenn Gibbons, Mrs. Eldon Jack son, Mrs. George Neuncr, Mrs. Harry O'Nlcll, Mrs. John h. Pierce. Mrs. H. H. Mrs. Bibler Honored At Farewell Luncheon Mrs. Ralph Baker entertained several Blue Star Mothers at her beautiful home on Mulhollond Drive Friday at i lovely 1 p.m. luncheon in compliment to Mrs Ada Bibler, who ii leaving soon for Florida and Indiana to visit relatives and friends, before going to California to spend the winter months with her son. Covers were placed for Mrs. Bib ler. Mrs. Emma Rictmann, Mrs. Julia Peck, Mrs. Betty Foster, Mrs. Vera Calkins, Mrs. Rachel f leenor, Mrs. Ella Herbison and the hostess, Mrs. Baker. Clifford Bab bitt, Airs. A. J. Alurray, Airs. Rex Roberts and Mrs. Donald Swick in compliment to Airs. W. F. Ami ot, who is leaving Oct. 23 with her husband, after residing in Rose burg for 13 years. Dr. Amiot is retiring from the staff at the VA Hospital. They will spend several months in Reno with their daugh ter, Mrs. James Lorigan, and fam ily, prior to deciding where to lo cale permanently. Y r- The First Presbyterian Church of Albany was the scene Saturday, Sept. 23, of the wedding of Miss Darlene Carlile, daughter of Air. and Airs. James Carlile of Esta cada, and Duane Shrum, son of Mr. and Airs. Vern Shrum, Glide. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Alorton L. Booth before the altar beautiful with candlelight and baskets of zinnias. James Carlile gave his daughter in marriage. She was lovely in her bridal gown of ankle-length white satin, made princess style with bouffant skirt and lace insets at the neck and down the front. Her veil was of lace and she wore lace mitts. She carried asydiums and pink roses on a white Bible. Aliss Saundra Dunham of Al bany was maid of honor and was dressed in pink with a pink ribbon bandeau in her hair. She carried Arthur Todds Announce Daughter's Engagement Air. and Airs. Arthur Phillips Todd of Roseburg announce the engagement of their daughter. Pearl Parsons entorlained her pinochle club at her home in SuHicrlin Friday evening, with the group gathering at 8 o'clock. Fall flowers made a pretly setting for the occasion. Beautiful arrangements of roses A. F. YOUNGS CELEBRATE SILVER WEDDING SUNDAY The Tenmile clubhouse was the scene of a charming affair Sunday evening, Oct. 7,: when Airs. F. A. Wafer, Airs. Herbert Young and Airs. Douglas Croy entertained to honor Air. and Airs. A. F. Young on their silver anniversary. Air. and Airs. Young were mar ried Oct. 4, 1931, at the home of Mrs. Young's parents, Air. and Airs. Herbert Whitney, in Bellflow er, Calif. They have mode their home in Tenmile for the past sev eral years. The hall was decorated with white and blue streamers and the table was covered with a white cloth. It was centered with a three tiered cake which was decorated with roses and forget-me-nots and was topped with a silver "25" and the same bride and bridegroom figurines which were on their wed ding cake 25 years ago. The cake was made and decorated by Airs. Bill Centers. Candles in crystal holders ornamented each end of the table. After Air. and Airs. Young open ed their many lovely gifts, de licious refreshments were served bv the hostesses. Guests enjoyed dancing to music provided by Air. Young at the guitar; Ernest Booth, the drums, and Nellie Winchell, the piano. Present to enjoy the occasion were the Youngs' son and daughter-in-law, Air. and Airs. Herbert Young, and son, Alichal, of Aled ford; their son-in-law and daugh ter. Air. and Airs. F. A. Wafer of Camas Valley; and their son, Al bert, of Tenmile; Airs. Young's brother-in-law and sister, Air. and Mrs. Dewey Chamblen and her nephew; Airs. Kenneth Shrum, cousin of t h e bridegroom was best man, and an other cousin, Darrell Maddox, act ed as usher. Mrs. AI. Kuntz play ed the organ. The bride's mother wore a gray and white suit dress and the bride groom's mother wore a navy and white suit dress. Both mothers wore pink rosebud corsages. At the reception which followed the ceremony, Airs. Don Wright, sister of the bridegroom, cut the cake and Airs. Phyllis Parsons poured. For her going-away costume, the bride wore a pink sheath dress with black accessories. The couple now resides at Corvallis where the bridegroom is a junior at Oregon State College. The bride was graduated from Albany High School in 1956, and before her marriage was employ ed by the Hardware Alutual Insur ance Co. in Portland. The bridegroom is a member of a pioneer Glide family and was graduated from Glide High School. He attended Linfield College for one year and spent two years in the armed forces before going to Oregon State College. RAINBOW GARDEN CLUB HONORS MRS. C. LACK Airs. Rosa Heinbach Lack was the inspiration of a delightful sur prise party Thursday evening at her home in Dillard. Alembers of the Rainbow Garden Club called bringing with them a beautiful three-tiered cake decorated with wedding bells and the inscription, "Rosa and Clarence." Interesting games were played, followed by moving pictures shown by Clarence Lack, covering the various trips that the garden club has taken during the past five years. Air. and Airs, lack were present ed with a wedding gift of a soil heating coil and thermostat for their greenhouse. Those enjoying the party were Airs. Nancy Linna, Airs. Alayme Manske, Airs. Les ter Spencer of Roseburg, became the bride of John William Lowery, Roseburg, son of Air. and Airs. W. L. Lowery of Lamar, Mo., in an impressive double ring ceremony at the home of the bride's parents, Oct. 3. The Rev. Eugene Gerlitz, pastor of the First Baptist Church, performed the ceremony at 8 p.m. in the presence of relatives and close friends of the couple. Greenery and pink and white daisies and cosmos formed the decorations. Airs. John Richards played the traditional wedding march. Given in marriage by her fath er the bride was lovely in a waltz length princess style wedding gown of white brocaded taffeta fashioned with a short bolero. Her finger-tip veil of illusion was held in place by a tiara of seed pearls She carried a bride's bouquet of pink roses and white carnations. Airs. Norman Sallee was matron of honor and wore a waltz-length dress of nile green brocaded taf feta and carried a bouquet of bronze - colored chrysanthemums. Loyd Thornton of Sutherlin was best man. Airs. Spencer wore a dark blue crepe dress for her daughter's wedding and a corsage of pink rosebuds. A wedding reception followed. The bride's table was covered by a beautiful lace cloth over pink and centered with a lovely two-tiered wedding cake decorated with pink rosebuds and tiny white bells with a larger white lace bell on top. Crystal candelabra and tall white candles flanked the cake. Airs. T. H. Pargeter cut the cake; Airs. Fred L. Southwick poured the coffee; Aliss Alarlene Emmitt had charge of the guest book and Airs. Darrel Isaacson had charge of the gifts. For traveling the bride chose a green silk pongee print dress with a green top coat and alligator ac cessories.
