BRIDE-ELECT HONORED AT SHOWER PARTY Miss Sylvia McKibben was hon orcd recently at a bridal shower at Glide Grange 'Hall. Miss McKib ben, who lives in Sweet Home, is to be married soon to Wayne Helms. Bubar entertained her bridge club at a charming one o'clock luncheon Tuesday at her lovelv home on SE Cass Ave. iris, tulins and other spring blossoms formed the attractive decorations. Covers were placed for Mrs. M. L. Hallmark and Mrs. Robert H. Savage, guests, and Miss Helen Casey, Mrs. C. B. Wade, Mrs. Chester Morgan, Mrs. Clair K. Al len, Mrs. Ivan Pickens, Mrs. L. & McClintock and the hostess, Mrs. Bubar. High scores for the afternoon s contract bridge play were won by Mrs. Hallmark for guests and Miss- Casey for members. FAMILY REUNION HELD AT EAGLE POINT RANCH For the first lime in over ten years the George inomas lamuy o Roberts Creek had a social re union. The large ranch home of William L. Thomas at Eagle Point near Crater Lake was the scene of the happy reunion of all the rela lives who formerly resided in Dil lard and Roseburg. William Thorn- as for many years worked for the Sam Miller ranch in the Dillard community. Those attending the family re union were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thomas and daughter Theresa; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Thomas and Lcanne; Joan Thomas from Rose burg and vicinity; Mr. and Mrs. George Thomas ana sons, dick, Paul and Georgie Bert of Roberts Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crawford and family, Bondell Crawford, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Crawford and son, James; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Olson and son, Neal, and a friend of the latter, .Miss Betty Gilke, all from Klam ath Falls. Two sisters, Mrs. Crawford and Mrs. Olson, and Mrs. George Thomas graduated from Roseburg High School in 1822. f ollowing me abundant potluck dinner the men attended a nearby rodeo and the ladies visited until the late evening. DENTONS ENTERTAIN AT CHILI DINNER Mr. and Mrs. Jack Denton en tertained at a very enjoyable chili dinner party at their attractive home in Garden Valley Saturday evening. An arrangement of Japanese quince was used to decorate the buffet table while candles in old wine bottles were used about the room. Covers were placed for Mr, and Mrs. H. W. Conn, Mr. and Mrs. Don HaYmon. Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Lee. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Christian, Sir. and Mrs. Don Guil- ey, Mr. and Mrs. Don Kruse and the hosts. A pleasant social evening of games followed the dinner hour. Zuleima Club. Daughter! of the Nile, met at the Episcopal Parish Hall for a delightful dessert-supper Friday the 13th. "Superstition" was the theme for the party, tables be ing decorated with yellow and green bird cages, black cats and yellow daffodils. Prizes were given for the best hat decorated with articles of superstition, first prize going to Mrs. William O. Kelsay and second to Mrs. William Harms. SHOWER PARTY IS CHARMING AFFAIR Mrs. Nina Conn was honored at a charming pink and blue shower at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Alice Goff, at 733 SE Haynes St., Saturday evening. The rooms were beautifully de corated with pink camellia blos soms. The gift table was covered with diapers and draped with pink and blue crepe paper and a large stork in the center, with the gifts arranged around it. The serving table was covered with a white rayon damask cloth, with a center piece of pink camellias and small storks arranged attractively about the table. Mirrors were placed un der bouquets and on the serving tame. Appropriate games were played with Mrs. Darlene Johnson, Doro thy Fink and Mrs.' Gale Cooper in charge. Those winning prizes were Mrs. Louise Stedham. Mrs. Mar gie Handy and Miss Lora Belle Cooper. Following the opening of the many lovely gifts a social hour was enjoyed at which time Mrs. Goff served delicious refreshments. She was assisted in serving by Mrs. Amy Kruse and her daugh ter, Mrs. Darlene Johnson. FAREWELL PARTY IS SURPRISE AFFAIR FRIDAY Mrs. James Files, who is leav ing soon to join her husband in Redding, Calif., was honored at a surprise potluck luncheon party given at her home Friday after noon by a group of friends and neighbors. The occasion also mark ed the second birthday of Sandra Files. A lovely card table was giv en to Mrs. Fitcs and Sandra re ceived many beautiful birthday gifts.
