City street de partment trucks will pick up refuse at parkings and street edges. The junk and refuse must be placed at the edge of the street by property owners before it will be picked up for disposal. The aid to property users by the city wi continue through the week in the areas designated above. City Manager George Farrell said the city trucks would pick up any junk. Smart, school superin tendent, went to Days Creek Wed nesday evening to install a new chapter and initiate eight charter members. He has accepted position in his church school at Caldwell, Idaho. Hugh Winterstcen, seventh grade teacher, also tendered hts resigna tion and expects to start religious training at a seminary in Califor nia this fall. Miss Audrey Spicer, fourth grade teacher, has also asked for a re lease to accept a similar position in Willamina, her home commu nity. .Miss Spicer and the Winter sleens have been active in local Sunday School work. Wilson has been active in school functions. Earlier resignations included Miss Retta Joseph, third grade teacher, who is retiring from leaching: Miss Ella Oleman, first grade teacher, also retiring, and Mrs. Evelyne Lair Wills, third grade teacher, who has married and will move to Cottage Grove. Now Contracts New contracts have been accept ed by four people. Mrs. Eleanor Klcnke, who taught fifth grade in 1953-54, will return from Cottaga Grove to teach fourth grade. Mrs. Louisa Kinlayson of Idaho, a sis ter of .Mrs. Florence Helms, will teach in the second grade. Horace A. Peden of Glendale ha accepted an eighth grade and grade school coaching position. Miss. Mary Lynn Holm of Roseburg will leach girls' physical education, health and biology. Church Of God Sets Music Night Program A Music Night" program will be presented tunday evening at 8 o'clock at the First Church of God, 250 Chestnut St.. Rev. Howard E. Baker announced. The program will consist en tirely of choral selections that have been requested. Howard Stratton is the music director ol the church.
