If a formal effect is wanted, such as required for wed ding parties, the subjeots can be placed in a line with .each one turned toward the center. For in formal shots, more liberty can be taken in arranging the ficurcs. and some people can even be sitting or kneeling; but slraight-in angles should still be avoided. With seated people, the straight in view is especially bad, as dis tortion will usually make the legs look unduly large. The seated fig ure, therefore, should be taken at an angle, or else the subject should be seated on the edge of the chair with knees turned to the side. A pleasing pose can also be at tained by taking advantage of sur roundings, tor example, the sub ject can be posed leaning against a tence, or witn a toot raised on a stairway. One way of identifying a good photograph is by the attention given to details, such as the posing of subjects . . . and a way to id entify a good photographic dealer is by the service offered.
