E. Pitta visited friends in Melrose and Roseburg Monday. They were en route hone from Medford. Mr. Pitts, a salesman for Ferguson Tractors in Eugene, was employ ed by Uiem here before, going to Eugene. Returns To Duty ' Airman Ralph C. Barker, son of Mrs. Rob ert K.-. Lloyd,, left Saturday for Scott Air Force Base, located at Belville, 111., where he will be at tending personnel school for the nest 12 weeks. . Barker has bettn visiting relatives and friends here for the past 10 days. ' Grandson Engaged Mrs. Cora Little has received word of ; the engagement of her grandson, Frank Sakley, who is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley W. Bethard of Paradise, Calif., to Miss Pauline Sheppard, a student at Chico Col lege. They plan to marry this sum mer and reside in Durham, Calif., where he is in business. Dick Gervais, also of Ort gon State College, was a house guest of the Helwegs. Return From Minnesota Mr. and Mrs. Don Warmen and son, Carl, are back at their home at Glide, where he is a forester with the V. S. Forest Service. They have been on a month's trip to btulwater, Minn., where they visit ed relatives and friends. To Klamath Falls Mr. ami Mrs. Vein Harden and children, Diane and Rickey, have recently returned from Klamath Falls where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Otis Harden. Mrs. Vera Hard' en is now at the home . of her mother, Mrs. Russell Parr, where she is convalescing from major surgery. .,; . . Powells Return Returning to their home here last weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Powell, who enjoyed a trip to San Diego to visit their son, Clifford Powell, and family. Their son, Laurence Powell, and family of Prescott Ariz., joined the group for a. visit and sight-seeing trips. The Pow- .-Us were gone about 10 days.
