Oakland Group Hoars Report On Convention By EDITH D0NN The Oakland Chamber of Com' nierce this week heard a report recent League ot Oregon Cities convention. It was read by.; Mayor Floyd Ross and Council-1 man Cal Bowles The Chamber parsed a resolu tion to support a project for a new post office. Mel Davis suggested as another project the planting of a Christ mas tree of a Southern Pacific lot on the lower end of Locust Street It was announced that the school board will begin work on the new budget on Jan. 3. Dinner was served by the Amer ican Legion Auxiliary and Esther Circle. RECITAL DATED Darryl Holt's tap dancing class in Glendale will give a recital at the Glendale High School Auditor ium at 8 p.m. Dec. 15. Evans Jr. are back at their home on Cass Street follow- ing a two-week trip to Los Angeles, where tney visited nis parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Evans Sr., and her sister, Mrs. B. Bowman Men del. At Stockton they visited George Dean.. .. ' Moving Away Mr. and Mrs. James E. Saxon Jr. are leaving Tuesday for - Klamath . Falls ' to make their home, and where Mr. Saxon plans to enter the Oregon Technical Institute. He has been employed here with a local firm for some time. Visit Richmond Mr. and Mrs. E. Gordon Clark of Portland spent two days in Roseburg this week at the home of the latter's daughter, Mrs. James Kicnmond, and fam ily. Visits Solomons Visitors over the recent weekend at the Vcrn Solomon home at Winchester were her two sisters and husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Aurie DeMoss, of Spring field; and Mr. and Mrs. M. Lyall of Brynmarr, Penn., who have been visiting for a time in Port land. Interest In Oil Well Being Snown In Medford Community Gas & Oil Com pany's Oil drilling operation at Melrose has apparently gained some interest outside the county. The Medford Mail Tribune re ports that several Medford busi ness and professional men have taken a financial interest in the well.
