V. T.Jackson Was Heaviest On. of the heaviest vote getters in Douglas County in the recent election campaign was V. T. Jack son, Democratic .candidate foe state representative. His total vote of 10,169 was slightly lower than-that cast for candidates for other positions. But he proved his domination by win ning approval to the State House of Representatives in every one of the 82 precincts, v . He was the biggest vote getter in 60 of the 82 precincts, was tied for most votes in one precinct and ran second in the other 20. Two seats were at stake. Frank Ashley, an other Democrat, chalked up 10,363 votes to oust incumbent Lynn Beck ley. He Won 73 of the .82 pre cincts. One tie vote was cast In the district judge's race, Warren Woodruff, a Republican, racked up 9,442 voles to beat out Thomas Hartfiel. In doing it, he won in 74 precincts. On the national level, Sen.' Guy Cordon' dominated the race in num ber of precincts in about the same proportion as the number of votes in the county. He won 9,399 votes U Mfw,Mt. , "JB3 I ( S Vote Getter In to Richarld L. Neubergcr's- 8,067, and was leading vot getter, in 47 precincts, , , ; An interesting sidelight is the way Cordon's . winning precincts were clustered. He dominated the central part of the county but fal tered in tlie southerq and coast parts of the, county. Neuberger's strongest areas in the county were on tlie coast and in the southern areas. The nuniber of precincts were slightly in favor of Cordon In the north central part of the county. Harris Ellsworth won most' of the precincts in the county as ex pected, but his Democratic oppo nent, Charles O. Porter,' fan stronger than expected. Ellsworth won 55 precincts, Porter 25, and two were ties. Ellsworth also found most of his strength in the center FUNNY BUSINESS N"So help me if any of them have rasping voices!
