Im mediately following the ceremony of constituting the lodge, the new ly elected and appointed officers were installed by the Grand Mas ter. CONN FAMILY REUNION IS EVENT OF SUNDAY The relatives and descendants of Henry Conn Sr. and his wife, Eliz abeth, met at Umpqua Park Sun day, Aug. 8, to celebrate the 1001b anniversary of the crossing of the plains of the Conns from Royal Center, Ind., to settle at Mel rose, then known as French Set tlement, in 1854. The first cost of fice was named Hogan and later cnangea to Melrose. H. P. Conn, president conducted a short business meeting and tho lamny tree waa read, it was tie cided to hold the reunion on the first Sunday in August in the fu ture. Officers elected were: H. P. Conn, president: Mrs. Amy Mat thews,- vice president: Virginia Matthews, secretary; Mrs. Fay conn acted as secretary in Vir- giniais absence. BUCKEROO DANCERS HAVE GUEST CALLERS Dancers attending the Monday night practice session at the Buck eroo Barn were pleasantly sur prised by a visit from the well known caller, Bob VanAntwerp, of Long Beach, Calif. Accompanying Mr. and Mrs. VanAntwerp and children were Mr. and Mrs. George Peek and daughter, Carol. The large group of dancers thoroughly enjoyed Bob's singing calls. , Another guest caller for the eve ning was Walt Bare of Spokane, Wash., who with his wife, Dori. was visiting in Myrtle Creek.
