EVENT OF SUNDAY
The relatives and descendants of
Henry Conn Sr. and his wife, Eliz
abeth, met at Umpqua Park Sun
day, Aug. 8, to celebrate the 1001b
anniversary of the crossing of the
plains of the Conns from Royal
Center, Ind., to settle at Mel
rose, then known as French Set
tlement, in 1854. The first cost of
fice was named Hogan and later
cnangea to Melrose.
H. P. Conn, president conducted
a short business meeting and tho
