BRITTAIN SLACK Terrv Lee Weathers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Weathers, of East Fourth Avenue, fell last Sunday from a tree on the school grounds, breaking his arm. He was taken to Mercy Hospital where it was dressed then brought home by bis parents. The boy is getting along very nicely. Ntbraskan Hare Clarence Todd, of Ashland. Neb, visited a week in Sutherlin last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs Larry Weathers. Todd is Mrs Weathers' father. Mr. and Mrs. Noah Rose Jr, spent last Sunday at CoquiUe, vis iting with Air. ana Mrs. uean Weekley and family. They brought their daughter, Judy, home with ttiem. She bad been visiting with her uncle and aunt. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wahl went to Corvallii Sunday, where they attended a family re-union. Mrs. Hugh Wahl, who has been In line Sacred Heart Hospital at Eugene, to under go major sur gery 10 days ago, was able to be brought home Monday. Mrs. Vern Holeate and Mrs. Richard Riggs were Sunday after noon visitors at the new home of Mr. and Mrs. Burdette Harvey, on the Calapooia at Nonpariol. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Krewson were visitors in the evening. Mrs. Mike Mann and Mist Harriet Riggs spent . Sunday at Hecata Beach. ' Mr. and Mrs. Ira Mann spent the weekend at Winchester Bay, where they enjoyed nsning. Friends Honor Mrs. Viola King . By ELAINE EAKER Friends of Mrs. Viola King, and members of the Gospel Taber nacle, held a farewell party for her on. Tuesday evening at the C.B.A. grounds. Mrs. King has been residing here for the past two years, and is now going to Nebraska where her children are attending school. Mrs. C E.- Parker, daughter of the Rev. A. M. Shaffer, is visiting friends and relatives in Los Ange les. Mrs. Parker made the trip by plane. A church picnic was held on Sun day at Canyonville Bible Academy grounds. There were approximate ly 100 persons attending, and aft er the picnic games were played. The young perople of the Gospel Tabernacle, Canyonville, had a progressive party on Friday night. The first course was served at the John Roldness residence, sec ond at the Charles Rimimell res idence, third at the Einar Engcn residence, and the party ended with watermelon at Mary Willis' home. Military Housing Measure Passes WASHINGTON Wl The Senate Wednesday passed a bill to author ize construction of 11,967 family housing units for military person nel in this country at a cost of 175 million dollars. The measure also would author ize construction of military family bousing in foreign countries at a cost of 75 million dollars. The measure, passed by the Sen ate by voice vote, differs from a House-approved military bousing bin in several respects. The Senate version must be ap proved by the House or a joint con ferenoe committee named to work out a compromise which would have to be approved by both Houses before it goes to the White House, The Senate's list of projects, the number of units and the amounts rccomimcndcd to be authorized in cluded: Oregon: (Air Force) Portland International Airport (60) $804,600.
