A report was given by Mrs. Bclty Jo Brown on the meetings of the Ponderosa Junior Girls Club. This group recently made Fourth of July decorations for the Veterans dance. Mrs. Mickie Dawson was report ed to be the mother of a new baby d-ighter. Mrs. Ruby Belle Kober- DiK was welcomed back after spending several montns in Cal ifornia. Members were reminded of the election of officers in Sep tember. Letters were read Edythe Manley and Mrs. Isa bel Hathaway, who have moved to Sweet Home. Refreshments were served at the close of the meeting by Mrs. Zillah Wade, Mrs. Jessie Thomas and Mrs. Margret Brown. Mrs. Blanche1 Eakin, national treasurer and director, will visit the Winston-Dillard Grove at the August 2 meeting at the grange hall. MID-WEEK BIBLE CLASS TO MEET ON THURSDAY The Mid-Week Bible Class of S!. Paul's Lutheran Church will meet Thursday at 2 p.m. at the parish house. Mrs. Herman Hasnargen. whose husband was a delegate from St. Paul's Lutheran Church to the district convention of Luth eran Churches, Missouri Synod, held in Portland in June, will give an interesting account of 'he convention, which she attended as a guest. PET PARADE TO PRECEDE OAKLAND BAZAAR The bazzar and entertainment to be given July 16 by Associated Women of the Presbyterian Church of Oakland will start with a pet parade at 6 p.m. Children under 12 years ot age are to take part. Supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. Various booths will feature fancy work, children s clothing. aprons and flower displays, which will be in charge of the Oakland Garden Club. A program is also planned. MRS. HARRIS WILL HOST HELPING HAND Helping Hand Club will meel at the home of Lillian Harris on Eden Lane Wednesday. KWERBEND CLUS DISCUSSES FAIR Riverbend Garden Club held its regular meeting Thursday at the home of Mrs. Frank Dixon on Bodie Lane. Plans were discuss ed for the coming county fair and the following were appointed to be in charge of the flower arrange ments at the fair: Mrs. Art Ben son, chairman; and Mrs. Glen Clute, Mrs. Elmer Baldwin, as sisting chairmen. Betty Ele, Doris Rogers, Connie Ross and Helen Self. This was the last meeting until September. EVERGREEN GRANGE PICNIC ANNOUNCED Evergreen Grange annual picnic will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Unupqua Park. Members are asked to bring potluck and their own, tame service, ine grange will furnish the coffee and ice cream.
