Five children accompanied her and put on a short program on alcoholism. The children were working 'or bronie medals. Children entering the contest were Nancy was3, Fay Ollivant, Marvin Patterson, Betty Jo Pillion and Rctta Pat terson. The three judges gave tnc award to Marvin Patterson. Mrs. Southwick has been !n WCTU work for several years. Other guests present Included Mrs A H. Marsh and Mrs. Rob ert Patterson. Mrs. Marsh also gave a short talk, stating that there are 174 children between the ages of 4 to 18 years of age now at the F?rm Home near Corvallis. Mrs. Elmer Currier, president of the society, had a membership card with her that had been is sued to her grandmother in 1896 from the Friends Church in West Elk'on, Ohio, by the WCTU. Mrs. lllcan Pontiue, retiring president, received a nice gift from the society. Jne onurcn Kitch en has been replenished with a new electric hot water heater, two jiow teapots, a new coffee pot and new dish pans. The next meeting of the society will be June 22 with Mrs. Char lie Kirklie and Mrs. Noble Snider, hostesses. MRS. CARNES HOSTS FRIENDS AT PARTY Francos Carnes was hostess last Thursday afternoon at a dnm nnstration partv given at her fcome by Bessie Lakoy of Drain. TIMBER POST VFW HAS PARTY AT AZALEA VFW Timber Post 7745 and aux iliary, held a dancing and card party at the Aaleaz Grange Hall June 12.
