Mrs. May Frye will be in charge ot the meeting. Rotes Planted The rose garden of Patented Florabundas, sponsored by the garden club for the school lawn. was started Tuesday. Fart of the rotes were planted, and a series of annual plantings are planned by the club. The Hobby Club will meet Thurs day, March 26, at the home of Cora EHen Brown. A number of Camas Valley women attended the Home Exten sion Unit preliminary meeting on tailoring ai me Kiversdale Grange Hall Monday. On the honor roll for the past six weeks in Camas Valley High School are It studnets. Four were seniors, one junior, five sopho mores and two freshmen. The Junior High School class sponsored a successful home tal ent show recently. Taking part in the program were Maxine Dancer. Steve Moody, Wyoma Pasco, Lor ene Priest, Judy Dancer and Bil- ne names, Cheryl and Kenneth uunnam, Jim Bartley, Eugene Ar nold, Bud Grant, Sandra and Jan ice Dahl, Judy Defferding. Sher- rel and LeAnn Moody, Mary and Susie White, and Lee Wilson. Refreshments were served im mediately following the show, The High School seniors spon sored a family entertainment night, Friday at the school. There were several different kinds of card games, table games, dancing for the teenagers, and movies for the children and refreshments were served. Proceeds will bene' fit the senior class. New Students Enroll Two new students were enrolled this week in the school, Bonnie Goyer in the seventh grade, and Roy Sheppard in the ninth grade. The Sheppards are former resi dents of the Valley, and have re cently moved back from Modesto, Calif. Guy Lutz, superintendent of the school, attended the O.E.A. con vention in Portland. The Rudolf Krieger family moV' ed to Myrtle Creek last week. JO' hanna and Rita plan to continue school in Camas Valley for the present; Johanna will stay with the Guy Moores and Rita with Mrs. Elma Dunham. The Russel Smith family moved to California this week. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Papst and family took advantage of the two day school vacation to go to the coast visiting and fishing. A new family in the Valley is the Earl Dulls who moved into one of Ted Heilman's houses. Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Ray have a new baby girl. She has been named Delores. Mrs. Don Labranch, Mrs. Allen Cooper and daughter, Christie, are spending the week in roruand. Wilson Roberts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Roberts has enlisted in the Air Force and is stationed at Parks Air Force Base in Cali fornia. , Mr. and Mrs. Dale Gustafson have moved to Riddle. Gustafson formerly was owner of Dales Service Station on Camas Moun tain. Mrs. Carl Dahl and Mrs. Wil liam Cunningham will motor to Salem Thursday to bring back Mrs. Cunningham's two grandchil dren, Russel and Charles Barber who will spend several weeks with her. Tickets are now being sold by all mem bers of the girl's glee club. Vamey Slates Leave Of Absence From Work ' Percy M. Varney, employment security deputy in the Roseburg branch of the State Employment Office, will take a leave of ab sence from the office starting Tuesday for "at least three months." Varney has been working with the Employment Office for the past five years. Previously, he ran a personnel office in Port land, was state parole officer and chief of police at Salem. Last year, he ran for city councilman in Roseburg. Varney did not state the reason for his leave.
