Added color to the clubhouse was accomplished by the use of num erous bouquets of mixed fall flowers in warm autumn shades. Two former Roseburg residents were welcomed by old friends. They were Mrs. Fred W. Saling of Corvallis and Mrs. Ralph Adams, who is now president of the Bend Club. Willamette Valley Southern Ore Ron Golf Association Sweepstakes Tournament was attended by 100 golfers from K.amath Falls, Bend, Eugene, Grants Pass. Mcdford, Coos Bay, Corvallis and Roseburg- Monday evening, Mrs. Ray Sims, team captain, presented Mrs. Da vid B. Evans, president of the as sociation, Eugene, who gave l short talk. Dd.ing the banquet hour. Mrs. Roger Gee played in cidental music. For the program, Peggy Ostrander played piano so los acd Mrs. George Shepard give I dramatic reading. Tuesday morning the tourna ment opened. Between nines, cof fee was served. Luncheon was served between one and three o'clock in the afternoon in th main room of the clubhouse. Mrs. Evans announced the win ners and presented the trophies. Winners included: Class, A, low gross, Mrs. J. J- Steiger, Klamath Falls, and low net, Mrs. T. A. Culbertson Jr., of Medford. Class B., Mrs. J. W. McCracken, Eugene, low gross, and low net, Mrs. Vera Martin, of Corvallis. ' Class C, Mrs. L- E. McClintock, Roseburg, low gross, and Mrs. C. F, Rosenbaum, Roseburg, low net. Class D., nine holes, Mrs, Har old Johnson, Grants Pass, low gross, and Mrs. Roy Sedell, Rose burg, low net. Although most of Tuesday was stormy, the golfers teed off on time and went through the tour nament in compliance with all plans for the affair. Following the luncheon, visiting was enjoyed in the clubhouse. Evans, re tiring president of the Willamette Valley Southern - Oregon Golf Association, Eugene; Mrs. H. A. Gray of the Corvallis Country Club, and Mrs. M. D. Miller, Med ford, general manager of the Wom en's Golf Association of the Rogue Valley Country Club. 2. Waiting to tee off included: Mrs. J. W. McCracken, Eugene; Mrs. Ralph Adams, Bend, (former Roseburg resident and who is now president of the Bend Country Club women), and Mrs. H. C. Obye, Grants Pass- S. At the starting table are: Mrs. W. A. Grimsley, Bend, left; Mrs. Joe V. Perrauit, Roseburg, and Mrs. Ronald Romig, Eugene. 4. Assisting at the coffee table were: Mrs. R. D. Coen, left, Mrs. H. N. Jacobson and Mrs- R. H. Savage. The table, covered by a brown cloth was decorated with a large arrangement of zinnias, in shades of orange and go'd, cat tails and fruits. 5. ARTHUR LOGAN ELLIOTT CELEBRATES NINTH BIRTHDAY SATURDAY Arthur Logan Elliott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce C. Elliott, cele brated bis ninth birthday Satur day by taking his guests to the motion picture, "The Greatest Show On Earth," after which the group went to the attractive El liott home in Laurel wood for birth day cake and refreshments. Gifts were presented to the guest of honor from: Allen Van Dyke, Dickie Romberg, Jim Aiten, Ty Cornwall and Alan Ford. Mrs. El liott was assisted in serving the birthday refreshments by her daughter, Miss Patricia. CO TO NEBRASKA Mrs. A. F. Micelli and ion, Bob, of Roseburg left the first of the week by automobile for Valentine, Nebr., to visit the former's Bar ents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nichus; her brother and ilster-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Niehus, and with her lister, Mrs. Marie A.
