DuPont de Nemours & Co., Inc., from a small black powder factory 150 years ago to one of the great chemical com panies of the world, died at a hos pital here Thursday. Duront had been ill fur several weeks and had been taken to the hospital recently from his summer home on Fischer's Island, N. Y. The youngest of three brothers who built up the mighty industrial domain, was president of the com pany for 14 years. He headed it lrom 1926 to 1940, succeeding his brothers, Pierre and Ircnce in that position. From 1940 to 1948 he was chair man of the board.
