This was the final meet ing of the year. Games and base ball were played. Refreshments were served to Mrs, Krank Long, the sponsor, and to Linda llodson, Susan Hill. Food to be sold will be taken to the store., and anyone wishing to donate food may do so. ine ladies Aid held its regular met ing May 28, at the church and dis cussed the food sale. Those present at the meeting were Mrs. Ernest Wheeler, Mrs. Ethel Brown, Mrs. L. G. Weaver, Madeline Loney, and Mrs. Riser. The Aid plans to hold three Ice cream socials during the summer, one a month, rney also aiscussea encouraging the young women of the church to attend the meetings of their organization. Enora and Emily Kelly, twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kelley. of Myrtle Creek, captured the $7S first prize award. Second prize winner is nine-months old Bobby Sconce, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sconce, 422 FlaeS St., Eddie Monrean's picture took third honors. He is two and one half years, the son of Mrs. Mon roan of Rt. A. Box 1S7. Roseburg. The second award is for $50 and the tliirtJ for $2S. Close to 200 candidates entered the contest. Judging was perform ed by public ballot. The pholos were displayed after April 17. En tries were received from March 17 to April 17. Votes were cast ' for the contestants on the basis o". expression, popularity and pho topenic qualities. The contest was open to youngsters from six months to six years of aje. CLUB Plans for the Fourth of July Celebration were discussed at the Home Economics Club meeting Monday Jun 2, in Camas Valley. The meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Hayden Taylor on Burma Road. Those present decided to have two concession stands at the park on the Fourth, one to handle cold drinks, and the other to sell hot dogs, hamburgers, cake, pie and coffee. Roll call was answered by giv ing ones favorite flower and telling why it is i favorite. The group also made plans to entertain the men on the social night the 24 of June. The prospect of putting on the play, "The Old Maids' Conven tion," at Bridge June 13, was also discussed. The date is not official. Those present for the meeting were Mrs. Charles .Crouch and daughter, Phyllis; Mrs. Louis Pry or, Mrs. ' Lee Wilson, chairman; Mrs. Ormand Standley, Mrs. Tay lor and Mrs. Naomi Staley. Mrs. Taylor served sponge cake, ice cream and coffee for refresh ments.
