The Roseburg Juniors meet Sutherlin in the first Ramo of 'he four-team loop. Sunday, the other half of the league goes into actum when Drain invades Myrtle Creek. Although Hal Zureher's local team has been practicing occa sionally after school, preparatory action for the double-round robin has been spotty. This week. Foot ball Coach Bill Reder Is guiding the young Legion team while Zud cher is honeymooning. . ( Mayor Al Flegel also reveals that registration for the Pee Wee summer baseball program is scheduled for Monday. Youngsters may be registered between 1 and 3:30 p.m. Zurcher will also men tor this program with Mickey Coen as assistant. Flegel states that practices will begin Tuesday and uniforms should be issued during ' the week. In the two-out-of three fall semi final, Pacific Coast Lightheavy Champ Frenchy Roy of Quebec tangles with sensational Jack Ris er of Portland. In one of the fast est, cleanest matches in recent weeks, Riser battled Stojack to the limit before finally losing in 45 minutes. Many ring veterans cal led this one of the finest matches in local history. Cummings is fresh from a battle royal triumph last weekend and is equally grumpy about getting an opening match. Both should be out to make it quick, Hessell with his trigger hold and Cummings with his kenn action leg binder. Tickets for the 8:45 affair are on sale at Powell's Sporting Goods Store. Seattle Youth Will Meet Flam , SEAT1LE 11 A surprising 17 year old Seattle junior player meets top-seeded Herb Flam of Los Angeles in a quarter final Match of the National Hard Court Tennis championships Friday. Bill Quillian, lanky and hard hitting University of Washington player, reached the round-of-eight Thursday turning back the veteran Seattle lefthander, Jack Lowe, 6-3, 6-4. Two days ago he upset seventh ceded Charles Hare of Chicago, a former British Davis Cup player. Quillian, northern division Pa cific . In the women's singles, Anita Kantner, Santa Monica, Calif., ad vanced with a 6-1, 6 3 win over Amy Yee, Seattle, 6-1, 6-3. McClintock, acting chairman of the board of directors for the newly incorporated Winchester Plywood Association. They are Invited to bring their wives and to join in the discussion. Blanks for subscription to com mon capital stock of the associa tion have been prepared. They list capital of $1,000,000 with 200 shares of common slock at $5,000 par value. The plant, which was closed down earlier this year, is proposed by the association for reopening as a co-operative venture, each employee to be a stockholder. The b'anks stale that not less than $3,000 is to" be paid with exe cution of the subscription agree ment, and $50 monthly install ments to be paid to the associa tion thereafter until a total amount of $5000 is paid. The subscription agreement Is made with the understanding thai the funds paid are to be used by the association to purchase the ply wood plant and facilities ot tnc Mar-Lin Lumber Corp. and to pro vide working capital for the oper ations. If the total subscriptions paid to the association are less than $400,000, or if less than 100 persons subscribe, the subscription agreement is canceled and all sums paid shall be refunded to the payer, the agreement states. Nine Western Colleges In Rose Festival Rodeo PORTLAND tfl Nine Western colleges will be represented in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo to be held here next week as a fea ture of the Portland Rose Festival. The college cowpokes are ex pected here from Texas, Oklahoma California and New Mexico schools as well as Washington State Col lege, Oregon State College, Uni versity of Idaho and Montana State.
