Kirs. Ruth Laurance, project leader, Instructed the women on how to make draperies: Some of the women made small samples. A potluck lunch was enjoyed at noon with an hour of visiting and recreation. After lunch, the Unit was en tertained by Tanya Lee Bettefield, a tap dancer. The business meeting was called to order by the chiarman,- Hazel Ison. Mable Roberts reported all 4-H clubs busy. Plans were made for a Penny Supper, featuring chicken pie, to be at the Ladies Clubhouse in Ten- mile Friday, April 25, beginning, at six p.m. Arrangements are in charge of Maureen Muetzel, finan ce chairman. Following supper, pupils from the Tenmile School will entertain. There will be a style show given by the Style Shop of Roseburg, under the-direction of Mrs. Gray, of the shop. Members present were: Minnie Melius, Hazel Ison, Clarice Brink man, Amy Erbe, Vera Erbe, Vin nie Cooper, Blanche Degner, Aud rey Centers, Norma Dwigni, rnyi lis McKay, Kate Mack. Josie , Smith, Elaine Roberts, Ruth Laur ance, Anna Ireland, Kathleen Sy- , pher, Mable Roberts, Bessie Smith, Julia Breitenbucher, Minnie Lock wood. Emma Diedrich, Alice Ty- I ler, Mickey Bourassa, Louisa Coats, Maureen Muetzel. The next meeting will be on Tues day, April 22, when Miss Betty Paterson, County Extension Agent, will demonstrate "dry-cleaning." The meeting will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. with a potluck lunch at noon. TOVAY JOLLY CIRCLE CLUB HOLDS REGULAR MEETINO The Jolly Circle Club held its regular meeting Wednesday, March 26 at the home of Vada Barter on the Flourney Road. After a lovely dessert luncheont a short business meeting was held. Roll call was answered by nine members presenting recipes which are to be held on reference file. Games were enjoyed with Leora Lynn, in charge. High score ftas won by Mildred Meeks. A social hour was spent sew ing on a quilt and visiting. Those present were Mrs. Emil Galla, Emma Cooper and Marsha; Elsie Jsakson, Donnie and Carol; Leora Lynn, June Childress, Dix ie and Mike; Mildred Meeks, Le nore Cooper, Mrs. M. Manning and the hostess, Vada Barter and children. . The next meeting will be held April 9 at the home of Mrs. Reed Conn. It is requested that needles and thimbles be brought. Members and friends are cordially-invited. ROSEBURG BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN ATTEND CONFERENCE Roseburg Business and Profes sional Women attending the South ern Oregon Conference in Grants ?ass, Sunday, March 30 were Mrs. Laura lies, Mrs. Minnie Clark, Mrs. Mary Chapman, Mcs. Edylhe Gilmour, Mrs. Emily Judd, Miss V. Vivian Logsdon. Mrs. Ann Storrs and Mrs. Priscilla Claren back, -Cal Slorrs and Mr. Claren back accompanied the women to Grants Pass. Mrs. Clarenback, Mrs. Gilmour, Mrs. Judd and Miss Logsdon at tended the Saturday night banquet. State President Celia Galey of Sweet Home, an attorney, spoke at the banquet on the topic "Why make a Will." At the workshop afterwards, the featured speaker was the state legislation chairman, Dr. Eleanor Gutman, who spoke on parliamentary proceedure. Mrs. lies.
