Tyrus Lovelace, son of Mr. and Mrs. . G. Lovelace of Rose, burg, recently departed from duty with Gen. Matthew B. Ritigway's Honor Guard Company in Tokyo to return to the United States, Lovelace, a veteran of Korean combat duty, served with the Hon or Guard as a platoon sergeant. During the early part of the Kor ean campaign, he was a member of the 1st Raider Company, serv ing with that unit for seven months prior to joining the Honor Guard. While in Korea he was awarded the Korean Service Rib bon with three campaing stars and one arrowhead, representing an in itial assault on an enemy - held beach. A graduate of Eugene High School and former student at the University of Oregon, Lovelace en tered the Army in 1948 at Fort Ord, Calif. He arrived in the Far East in 1949. ENLISTS Lloyd Gale Springs, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Springs, Ump qua Star Route, Oakland, has en listed in the Marines, according to the local recruiting office. Springs is receiving recruit training at San Diego. Before enlisting he worked at the Martin Brothers Box Co. L. E. JONES RETURNS Lowell E. Jones, Roseburg, is re turning to San Diego, Calif., aboard the aircraft carrier USS Essex. The huge vessel has been operat ing in Korean waters for nine months. Fedje of Portland as the guest leader and some nine other Meth odist ministers of churches from Elkton on the north to Days Creek on the south and their respective guest leaders, Roseburg Method ism will begin operations Friday March 21 as a "secondary cen ter" of the United Evangelistic Mission of Methodism in the Pa cific Northwest. Final preparation will be made for these Umpqua Methodist Churches to participate in this pro gram of evangelism that has been moving across the denomination, at a banquet Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the First Methodist Church. All of these ministers participated in a similar mission in the Portland area just a week ago. The mis sion now moves out into the re maining portion of the state. It is a program of united shar ing, witnessing and worshipping, says the Rev. W. A. MacArthur. Every Methodist Church in the en tire northwest, Washington, Idaho, Oregon, has been, or will be this week, engaged in Hie program of preaching and visitation evangel ism. Each Methodist minister has been- a guest leader in some other church as well as a host pastor I when his own congregation was I involved in the mission. Dr. Fedje will lead seminars with these pastors every morning i on the mechanics of membership I training classes, methods of as. I simulating new members into the organizations of the church and other essentials of good church- manship. Dr. S. Raynor Smith, superintendent of the southern dis I trict will also be in the city during the week to assist in the mission. Probata Orders Issued In Two Estates Hera Grace B. Hildeburn, Roseburg, was appointed Wednesday as ex ecutrix of the estate of hor late husband, Harry J. Hildeburn, who died at Roseburg March 8. Legatees named in the will arc Kie widow; a son, Harry J. Hilde- Durn jr., umana, Neb., and a daughter, Adeo Sua Reed, Hoqui am, Wash. Value of the estate was estim. ated at $25,000. Appointed apprais ers Wednesday were W. F. Chap man, J. A. Harding and C. W. Wharton. The estate of ICnei Doshua Chil son, who died at Roseburg Feb. 9, is valued at 22,187.65, according to an inventory filed Wednesdav. Appraisal was by Bonnie Daug'h erty, Mary Monk and Randall Young.
