Roach, Th.D, Guest Speaker Good man or GOD -MAN? It will do no good to xy that Jesus was a good man and noth ing mote. Jesus was cither Cod or He wasn't good. A Man who told the people of His day, 'Ye are from beneath: I am from above;" who claimed that He was entitled to a degree of honor equal to that of "the Father;" and who saveral hours before His death still asserted His divine Sonship such a man could be only one of two t hingi : an Im poster or the Son of God. The testimony of His contem poraries, the witness of the Scrip tures, and the voice of history demonstrate that, far more than being merely a good man, Jesus Christ is the GOD-MAN, the "God with us," It was at the God-Man that Christ, by His substitutionary death upon the cross, was able to reconcile heaven and earth and to win salvation for every man. That is why John writes near the end of his Gospel : "These things are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son 0 God; and that, believing, ye might have life through His name." , . , St. Paul's Lutheran Church Corey end Military St. Raieburg, Oregon Servicti 8:30 and 11:00 A.M.
