The L but he could offer to auutRe the teart of the grief-stricken mothrt was the line, oft-quoted since: "It Is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved ac all." How different from the as surance of the man who has come to God through faith in Christ I Jesus said: "My sheep hear My voice . . . and I give unro them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shjll any man pluck them out of My band." He who has learned to know Christ as his Savior from sin need not pin his hopes for the future on the shallow comfort of greeting card philosophy. Having placed his hind into the hand of the eter nal Shepherd, he can say: "Yea, though 1 walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me." In an attempt to focus the attention of the family on the church each Sunday and to streamline the num ber of separate programs by com bining them into one evening, this experimental three-hour fellowship has been planned. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the fam ilies of the church are invited to bring their food and table service for the evening meal, in the form of a smorgasbord. At 6:30 the group will break Into smaller units by ages for a period of discussion and sharing with one another. Mo tion pictures and slides will be featured in these periods of study. At 7:30 p.m. the entire group will assemble in the sanctuary for the closing worship service. Mrs. Shir lie Iverson will be guest soloist, and the Jtev. MacArthur will bring a brief message illustrated by a colored chalk drawing. The public is invited to partic ipate In any or all of these activ ities. SUTHERUN By MRS.
