Court Upholds Contract For Purchase Of Land Right to rescind a contract for purchase of a ranch and equip ment was denied William A. and Cecelia Schuler in a Circuit Court decree Wednesday. The Schulera had filed suit against Carlyle H. and Gladys E. Humphrey, alleging misrepresen tation of the property they had contracted to purchase. Judge Carl E. Wimberly said the contract was valid and ordered the plaintiffs to pay $27,500 remaining due on the property. The Stale Bureau of Labor filed suit in Circuit Court Wednesday charging that Les M. Withee and A. V. Logsdon owe a total of $2,250.06 to two men who worked for tSiem. Oil Representative Loses Wallet In Roseburg Area R. R. Batton, Union Oil Co rep resentative, reports the loss of his wallet sometime Tuesday. He said the wallet is had carved with sad dle stitching. Batton is currently staying at the Hotel Umpqua, but all papers in the wallet have his Los An geles address. It contained more than $100 in currency, his last month's pay check, driver's license and other personal cards and papers, in addition to personal chocks. He said he has notified the lo cal police and banks. He said the purse, if found, could be returned to him at the hotel or to local police. Melrose Horizon Girls March On Polio Tonight High school girli will also march on polio tonight. In the Melrose area, the Horizon Girls, a high school organization, will be callers from 8:30 to 7:30 in a campaign to collect funds for the fight against polio. The committee voted to cite Gruenwald, who figured in a $500,000 income tax shakedown plot, for con tempt of Congress. They also voted to recommend a contempt citation against Moloney. (NEA TELEPHOTO) Roseburg Folk Dancers Will Practice Tonight The Hoseburg International Folk Dance group will meet (or prac tice tonight at 8 o'clock in the new Women's Club Building; This will be the last practice before Mrs. Pirkko Roecker's class, which will be held Saturday evening. Feb. 2. All members of the Rosebuig group and those interested in ternational folk dancing are asked to come. On Saturday night Mrs. Roecker, former head of the department of dance at the University of Ore gon, will come down from Eugene for two hours of instruction, bring ing with her some of the mem bers of the Eugene International Folk Dancers. Following instruc tion and dancing Saturday evening, refreshments will be served.
