Hickman, aaugnier oi Mr. and Mrs. Floyd G. Hickman of Glide, became the bride of Juan Schwendener Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Juan Schwendener of Guatemala City, Guatemala. Rev. Carl Faulkner, pastor, performed the nuptials. Mrs. William. H. Kenny accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Ruth Harris, who sang "Day of Golden Promise" and "To gether Life's Pathway We Tread." Mrs. Kenny also played the wed ding march and recessional. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in a white aatin gown with an imported lace yoke. The finger-tip lace veil was held in place by a coronet of satin and pearls. Her bouquet was of red roses. The maid of honor was Miss Bethel Armstrong of Tucson, Aril., who wore a pink organdy formal and carried a red rose nosegay. Miss Olivette Ekdahl of Portland and Mrs. Louise Hisey of Portland were bridesmaids. They wore blue flowered organdy gowns and car ried pink rosa nosegays circled with veiling. Mrs. Waston Talcott and Mrs. Neil Talcott, wearing pastel for ma Is and wristlets of pastel flow ers, lighted the tall white tapers of the large candelabra on each side of the ivy covered arch. Bas kets of pastel gladioli decorated the altar. Sgt. Ejilph G. Hickman, brother of the Me was best man and the ushers were Watson Talcott of Glideand Milton Hisey of Portland. Snyder, aim of Mr. and Mrs. Friti Snyder, Days Creek. The ceremony took place at the Days Creek Community church and the rituals were performed by Rev. 0. L. Kendall, pastor of the Canyonville Methodist church. Miss Martha Gosnell, Tiller, sane "Because" and "I Love You TrUlV hne was accompanied Dy Mrs- Homer Grow of Roseburg. Mrs. Grow also olaved the wed ding marches on the Hammond organ. Over 100 friends and relatives witnessed the double ring cere- mony. Her bouquet was a white orcnid a'oo a white Bible witn a snower oi stephanotis and ribbon. The finger tip Oil was of illusion and was held in place by a Juliet camp. The church was decorated with baskets of summer flowers and candelabra on either side of the altar before which the bride and bridegroom knelt on a white satin pillow for the benediction. Miss Barbara Snyder of Days Creek, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor. Her dress was of orchid organdy fashioned along the same line, as that of the bride. I She carried a shower bouquet of yellow gladioli. Bridesmaids. Miss Wanda Per kins of Gold Beach and Miss Caro lyn Hill, granddaughter of County Judge and Mrs. C. C. Hill of Rose burg, also wore orchid organdy gowns and carried yellow gladioli bouquets. Ushers were Jim Rice of Myrtle Creek and Keith Hanna of Bend, cousins of the bridegroom. , The bride's mother wore a navy blue tailored suit and a gardenia corsage. The bridegroom's mother wore a navy print silk dress in a two-piece (yle. She also wore a gardenia corsage. A reception followed the serv ices at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl M. Hill of Days Creek. Mrs. Ted Rice of Myrtle Creek cut the cake and Mrs. ' Charles Wheeler served. Mrs. Raymond Snyder served the punch while Mrs- Frank Xhapin poured. Mrs. Snyder and s. Chapin are aunts of the bridegroom. The young couple visited coastal points on their honeymoon. For traveling the bride chose a navy blue suit with white accessories, Her corsage was a white orchid. Upon returning the newlyweds are at home in Days Creek. Both the bride and bridegroom attended school in Days Creek. The former was graduated in 1951 and the latter in 1948.
