Homlie By Chic Young Firms Contribute Lambs, Calves For Scrambles Several Roseburf firms win con tribute to the success of the Sher iffs Posse rodeo June 23 end 24 and to the happiness of 4-H youths and Future Farmers by donating animals for the lamb scramble and the claf scramble. The . lamb scramble, for 4-H girls, fs the last part of the Satur day rodeo show and the calf scram ble is the final event on the Sun day show. In the latter, 4-H boys will scramble for five calves first and Future Farmers w!M finish up by capturing the rcmaininf Ave. The youth gains possession by capturing the animal but he must break him to lead and bring him bark In the fall for the Douglas county fair for show purposes. All the calves are purebred Herefords. Thought Control Murder Draws Death Verdict POUGHKEEPSIE, N. Y. (.TV A death chair verdict was reported by a jury last night against Joseph L. Paonessa in the "thought con trol" murder of a 14-year-old boy. Paonessa, a 44-year-old me chanic, was convicted of first de gree murder in the shooting of Rob ert E. Leonard last October in a shack on a farm at Milan, north of here. Paonessa told officials that Al fred Von Wolfersdorf, 66-year-old landlord of the Leonard family in Poughkeepsie, ruled his actions by "thought control." Paonessa said Von Wolfersdorf was his master in a two-man "se cret society."
