INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS TO BE HELD BY JUNIOR WOMAN'S CLUB The Junior Woman's c-lub will hold annual installation of officers at a meeting planned for Tuesday night at eight o'clock at the Epis copal parish hall. Members of the Senior Woman's club ar? invited as special guests, airs. Robert Green will be installed as president lor her second year as head of the organization. GARDEN VALLEY WOMAN'S CLUB IS ENTERTAINED THURSDAY AFTERNOON The Garden Valley Woman's club met Thursday with Mrs. C. I.. Spray and Mrs. U. F. McLaughlin co-hostess. Announcement was made of the Garden Valley graduation exercise on May 25 at the Garden Valley clubhouse. It was decided to have a potluck picnic the last day of school, June 1. at 12:30 at the school play grounds. Those present W'ere Mrs. R. W. Fielding. Mrs. Waller Edmonds, Mrs. Clifford McKay, Mrs. F. HARRY BARKER ENTERTAINS AT CARD : PARTY TUESDAY i The Barker home was the scene : of delightful dessert luncheon Tuesday when Mrs. Harry Barker and Mrs. Vern Ilolgate entertained the Sutherlin lilhcum Bridge club. Beautiful bouquets of spring flow ers were used about the rooms. Covers were placed for Mrs. Fred Waugh, Mrs. John Chase, Mrs. Emma Carr and Mrs. i. J ! Bielman who are njembers, and for their guests. Mrs. Claude Harvey, I Mrs. Clifford Klory, Mrs. Marvin ' Stcinbach, Mrs. I.loyal Stearns, Mrs. Lloyd Cornish and the host esses, Mrs. Barker and Mrs. Ilol gate. ! Bridge was played with prizes i awarded to Mrs. Cornish. Mrs. ' Carr and Mrs. Harvey. Mrs. Barker was presented with a birthday gift t from the members. j The next meeting of the club will be held at the home of Mrs. 1 Claude Harvey and Mrs. Wesley Thompson will be co-hostess. At the close of the meeting, a handkerchiel shower was given to Mrs. J. N. Sand who is leaving for a visit in Sweden this summer. BADOUR A MEMBERS TO SEW FOR SHRINE HOSPITAL Badoura club, Daughters of the Nile, will hold a meeting to sew for the Shrine hospital Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Essie Koenlz. The meeting will begin at one thirty o'clock. All members are urged to attend to assist with the sewing. EXTENSION UNIT TO HOLDS ALL-DAY MEETING Olalla Tenmile Extension unit will hold an all-day meeting Tues day at the home of Mrs. Julia Breitenbucher. The meeting will open at 10:30 a.m. The topic will be "Space Saving Kitchens." All women of the community inter ested are invited. DAR MEETING TO BE HELD ON MAY 2 Umpqua chapter, DAR. will meet next Monday evening. May 29, in stead of tonight. The meeting will be held at the new home of Mrs. L. F. Nielsen on Moore street at seven-thirty o'clock. Mrs. Orrin Baker will be program chairman. Miss Betty Jane Patterson, county extension agent, was proj ect leader and showed slides on "Kitchen Storage." It was voted to have a social meeting in September to start the i9M-52 extension season. Ball, Episcopal clergy man, died at his home here Fri day. He had recently resigned as vicar of St. Barnabas Mission, Multnomah. Previously he was pastor of St. Lukes church at Greats Pass from 1943-1948.
