IS, 1950 Adultery Tims-Limit Set In British Divorce Case LONDON m -The House of Lords has ruled that a man whose wife had a baby 360 days after the last time he saw her is entitled to a divorce on grounds of adultery. The plaintiff was 'Charles P. Jones, a veteran of the Royal air force.. His wife, Bertha, had the baby on August 13, 1948. Although Jones proved he had not visited her since Aug. 18, 1945, she in sisted the baby was his. A lower court upheld Mrs Jones and refused her husband s plea tor a divorc t. Granting Jones' appeal, the House of Lords' legal panel noted various courts have held in the past that births after period of .131, 346 and even 349 days "were not impossible," but added: "It would appear a fantastic sug gestion to any ordinary man Cor woman that a normal child could be born 360 days after the last intercourse." Violent Earthquake Felt In Northeast California SAN FRANCISCO fPI An earthquake described as violent by residents was felt in the isolated Donner summit area of the Sierra the most regal and best loved of all flowers at 5:25 a.m. today.
