Boy Scout of Amer ica, convened at the council's 2fith annual meeting at Springfield I'nion high school. Major G. Roderic Durham, Salvation Army divisional com minder from Portland, gave a speech on ,"A Bill of Rights .for Children." Accident Disability Case Settlement Made The case of Rudolph W. Naiman vs. the State Industrial Accident commission has been settled out of court, according to Ciruit Judge Carl E. Wimberly. Tha plaintiff was asking in creased disability allowance for an arm injured while bucking logs. The next case on the docket, R. K. Shelton vs. Frank V. Lowell, began today. The plaintiff is asking damages allegedly received in an auto accident. L. E. and Helen M. I.inlhicum have filed a suit in circuit court atainst Raleigh Brannon for re ccvery of a car allegedly being held forcibly by the defendant. The plaintiffs ask recovery of the property, allegedly sold under a conditional sales contract, or $110 still declared owing. Jack I.ucas opened the program with a talk on the value of speech. He pointed out speech was neces- sary to convey ideas to others. Pat Turner, in a speech on loyally, said if a man was n0( loyal to his job he was degrading . himself. He expressed the belief people owe loyalty to their em ployers as well as friends and fam ilies. Suter, in Bloomington, III. Johnson Graveside funeral services for Heorse W. Johnson, 72, who died Dee. 2, were held today, Dec. 6, Ml m. m the Melrose cemetery, with Rev. Vernon Klemins officiat ing. Mr. Johnson was born April 10, 1878. in Bear, Tenn. He had lived in Roseburg many yeara before moving to Portland to make his home. He was an employee of Doug, las county for many years. Surviving are his widow, Eliza beih. Portland: a daughter. Mrs. Mildred Siesel. Portland: a brother Joseph Johnson. Clinton, Tenn , and three grandchildren.
