Roseburg Airport
Service Charges
Are Announced
A schedule of, charges for the
Roseburg Municipal airport as ap
proved by the city council and
Harold 0. Burleson, airport mana
ger, are announced as follows:
Planes up to 12S horsepower S8
per hour without pilot (solo) in
cluded; $11 per hour with pilot
(dual). Planes above 12S horse
power $14 per hour without pilot
included, and $17 per hour with
pilot.
Charter flights are listed at $10
per hour plus tax, with one pas
senger, and $15.30 per hour plus
tax for two or more passengers.
Extra charges may be made un
der special conditions.
Club rates are SO cents per hour
for solo flights, less instructor,
and $3 per hour for all dual flights
with instruction.
Field storage rates are $10 per
month for light two-place planes;
$12.50 per month for four-place
planes, and $20 per month for light
two-engine ships. Tie-down space,
not within the hangar, is $3 per
month for all aircraft.
For additional operations, Includ
ing flight schools, repair agencies,
ground schools, aircraft sales agen
cies, the city shall receive six per
cent of the gross income, payable
by the tenth of the following month.
The operator is to furnish his own
facilities and comply with all CAA
and field regulations.
Mechanical shop rates are $2.50
per hour for licensed mechanics
and $1.50 per hour for apprentice
mechanics. Parts will be retailed
at the distributer's suggested sell
ing price.

Church Reopening
Perfect weather and widespread
interest in the little church which
after 40 years has reopened - its
doors brought over 200 people up
the Coyote creek road to Golden,
ghost mining town in Josephine
county of half a century ago.
Grants Pass and nearby Wolf
Creek each sent over 30 to share
in the occasion. Four California
cities and two from Hawaii were
represented. Twenty were from
Glendale, 13 from Hugo, and others
from Merlin, Roseburg, Azalea,
Winona, Eugene, Sunny Valley and
Junction City.

ing shop is one of Canyonville's
newest businesses, Tht shop is lo
cated on Main street between
Third and Fourth. Though the own
er, Gilbert St. Marie, has his shop
in a large 30-passenger school bus.
He says it is to be located here per
manently. He has had 12 years
experience in shoe repair business.
.For the last 18 yeari th family
lived in Libby, Mont., where the
temperatures drop to as low as 38
below during the winter. This last
winter when the temperature didn't
raise above 20 below for four weeks
was the deciding factor for them
to seek a more ideal climate.
Three years ago the family had
been through Canyonville and liked
it here.
After learning there were no
empty business buildings to be had
they decided to take their shoo re
pair equipment and remodel the
bus to be used as a permanent
shop.
The family Includes Mr. and
Mrs. St. Marie and their daughter,
Joyfair, who will be a freshman
in high school this fall. The family
had their trailer parked on Pop
Green's property.
