Threatened Strike Of Switchmen Criticiied CHICAGO, May 20. .P The threatened strike Tuesday of AFL switchmen against 10 railroads, the Western Association of Railways said today, "is wholly unjustified. ' "This strike threat," the asso ciation said in a statement, "is a reckless drive for prestige an at tempt by one small union to O'jt smart and outdo a big rival union " Only government intervention could avert the scheduled walkout set for 6 a.m. against the 10 mid western and western lines. Although no word came from the White House in Washington after the strike call Wednesday night, the National (railway) Mediation board was expected to be called in and attempt to settle the wage-hour dispute. tit VS CHICK AND ADJUST YOUR OLD SHOCK ABSORBERS tjgr WE RFM.ACE WITH Lockwood Motors Rose and Oak St. Phone 80 TOP CRAFTSMEN Judging in the annual year-end exhibit of the senior high school industrial arts projects named these three boys as winners in various divisions.
