"We are all very pleased with the new building, particularly the enlargement of the lunch room," the clerk said. The lunch room was started last year under the aus pices of the P.-T.A., now called the Tiller-Drew Benefit club. There is a 100 percent daily attendance of students and teachers tor hot lunches. The cooks are Mrs. Ho well and Mrs. Newman. Autos Elderly Couple Badly Hurt In Auto's Upset KLAMATH FALLS. March ( (.) An elderly couple, driving horn with their son and daughter-in-law from the Utters' wedding, were seriously injured in sn over turning csr yesterday. Eugene Ackley, 72, and his wife were brought to s hospital here with ' spinal fractures. Their car overturned north of Tulelake, Cal. The bride and groom, riding with them, were only shaken. Donald Ackley, Willamette university stu dent, and the former Doris Jean Stuart, Kittanning, Pa., had been married Saturday in Reno, Nev. The Ackleys live in Brookings, Ore, Ackley, who was driving when the accident occurred, ia a retired Bend lumberman. With the average horse doing away with 30 pounds of hay a day, thoroughbred owners spent $7,686, 900 for the hay consumed by the 21.616 horses in training during 1949. She came for the Whar ton golden wedding celebration, which took place Sunday. Mr. Lockwood accompanied her to Roseburg and went on to San Fran cisco on business. They formerly made their home here. Visiters Leave Mrs. Jejhn Rawson and her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Whar ton, have returned to their tiomes in Salem, following a visit since Friday in Roseburg with Mr. Whar ton's parents, Mr. and Mra. J. R. Wharton, on East Douglas street. They attended the golden wedding celebration Sunday of Mr, Whar ton's uncle and aunt, Mr, and Mra. Charles W. Wharton.
