Lewis so- to-work order today, vowing ineyu stay out untu tney get a contract. Reports indicated practically all the more than 370,000 strikers are continuing their walkout. They are defying both the United Mis Workers and the government. The government's double-barreled legal action during the week end didn't have much effect on the striking miners. Keech issued a 10-day temporary order for Lewis and his (Continued on page Two) East Roseburg Annexation Plan To Be Discussed Residents of East Roseburg and others interested are invited to attend a meeting Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the city council cham bers. The purpose is to discuss the various phases of the East Roseburg annexation election and what may be expected if the area is admitted to the city. Everyone interested, either is favor or against the annexation, is invited totatlend. representatives from West Roseburg and the city of Roseburg will be present to an swer questions pertaining to the proposed annexation. The election will take place in Esst Roseburg Friday, Feb. 17. With the selection of an election board and the location of the place of voting, everything is in readi ness, according to City MANAGER M. W. Slankard. The board consists of Lonnie Denn, Ruth Parker, May Chap man, I.illie Stocking and Rosa Webb. The place of voting will be at the home of Mrs. Maude Span cake, across from tha county shops on E. Second Ave. S. Ttie polls will be opes from ( a.m. until S p.m. No election will be held within the city at this time, but if the vote in East Roseburg is favor able, an acceptance election will have to be held within tha city at a date to Be set. Gun Wieidcr Held In Wounding Of Infant KLAMATH FALLS, Feb. (3t George Northmp, 57, was held today on a charge of as sault with a deadly weapon in tha wounding of a 21-month-old boy. The child was struck by one of three bullets that came through a ceiling Saturday night. Police said the child was not seriously hurt, but suffered a flesh wound of the thigh while asleep in his crib. The infant is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Tucker. Investigation by police indicated Northmp fired three .45 caliber bullets out of a window of a sec ond floor apartment overlooking t first floor portion of the same building. The bullets crashed through the roof into the boy's room. Prof. A. W.
