Smith of Roseburg at the Port land Sanitarium April 23, accord ing to word received here. Mrs. Smith and baby expect to return to Roseburg Sunday. Mr. Smith has the Valley Electric store on Sheridan street. Dinner to Be Held B. P. W. C. will meet at a 7 o'clock no-hostess dinner Monday night at the Ar mory with the new officers in charge. Those attending are asked to make reservations by calling 196 and are requested to furnish their own table service. Mrs. Leona Bryant, Myrtle Point, past president of the Oregon Federa tion of B. P. W. C, will be the speaker. Buckleys Back Mr. and Mrs. Ray Buckley are back at their home in West Moreland, follow ing several months on a vaca tion in Georgia, visiting relatives and friends. Mr. Buckley, who suffered a fractured skull in a motorcycle accident last fall and was hospitalized for a number of months, is reported to be much Improved. Visit at Folden Home Mr. and Mrs. James B. Folden of Melrose have had as guests this week, the former's children, who came to visit them because of the ser ious illness of Mr. Folden. They are Edwin J. Folden, son from Seattle; W. A. Reini, stepson, also of Seattle; Mrs. G. V. Hayden, daughter, Oakland, Calif.; Mrs. Roscoe Tyncr, daughter, New port, Mich., and A. B. Folden son, from Wyandotte, Mich. At Kilborn Home Mr. and Mrs. C. L. DeMott of Yakima. Wash., are visiting in Roseburg with the lfttter's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Al den W. Kilborn, on Watson street. Mrs. Kilborn has just returned home following a stay In Rochest er, Minn., with her mother, Mrs. Earl H. Thompson of Eugene, formerly of this city, who under went a major operation at the Mayo Clinic. Mrs. Thompson is now convalescing satisfactorily at her home In Eugene. Visit Mrs. Gorrell Dr. and Mrs. James H. Gilbert have re turned to their home in Eugene, following a visit at the home of Mrs. Lula Gorrell in Roseburg. Dr. Gilbert recently retired from his postion at the University of Oregon, where he served as dean of the College of Liberal Arts for many years. The Colorado Mountaineers Come w R E S T L I N G Guerrier Lumber Mill At Springfield Burns SPRINGFIELD, Ore., May 7. (.Pi The C. W. Guerrier Lum ber mill was almost completely destroyed by a 5100,000 fire here last night. The mill Is owned by the M. und M. Woodworking firm of Portland and employes 85 men. No cause was given for the blaze, whipped bv a brisk wind. The mill burned out In 18-13 and since was rebuilt. Destroyed were the main sawmill and. the plan ing mill.
