Mrs. Everelt Thomas, president, con ducted the meeting and Mrs. D. P. McKay presented the devo tions. Plans were made to hold weekly work meetings to com plete a quilt for Mrs. W. H. Nielsen, music chair man for the Roseburg Woman's Club, has arranged a very charm ing musical program for the one thirty o'clock meeting to be held at the armory Tuesday afternoon. The newly organized string quartet, composed of Miss Naomi Scott and Miss Patricia Mayo, violinists; Mrs. Beulah Roach, viola; and Mrs. Jean Man-, 'cello: will play, "Sarabandc" by Bach; "Rondo from the String Quar tet No. 6 by Mozart, and "Molto Lento" from Quartet Oi. 17. Conditions specified for such a meeting Indicated a new dead lock between management and union heads. The company declined yester day an invitation from Federal conciliators to meet with the Aeronautical Mechanics union but said it would meet with the par ent International Association of Machinists (Indh President William M. Allen of Boeing notified conciliators that the company would not meet with AMU officials because, he con tended, the local union "is no longer a collective bargaining agency under the NLRA (Nation al Labor Relations Act)." He de clared it had lost that privilege because the strike "was in viola tion of the contract."
