Harrah of Roseburg are driving to Medford Friday to re main overnight and meet the plane Saturday to bring back the hitter's sister, Mrs. Ruth Wuthe of San Francisco, who will spend three weeks at the Harrah home on South Pine street. She will partici pate in the Northwest bowling tournament at Tacoma Sunday afternoon, May 2. Mrs. Bistak will bowl for Gillette - Guffy Drugs of Olympla. She was a member of that bowling team prior to moving to Roseburg. Improving Mrs. Gladys Parteo of Little River is reported Im proving, following infection from a woodtiek. Will Visit In California Mrs. Joseph J. Kloberdanz and two daughters, Sharon and Sonja, of Roseburg expect to leave Satur day for Modesto, Calif. ,to spend a week visiting Mrs. Klober danz' parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Brunkest. Return to Portland Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fest have returned to their home in Portland, follow ing a visit here with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Simmons and with Mr. Fest's relatives. They form erly made their home in Roseburg. To Present Drill The Knights of Pythias Girls Drum Corps will nut on an exhibition drill at the Veterans Administration Facility Monday, Mav 3. Several musical numbers will also be presented. The Corps is under the direction of Bill Black. Talent 8how Bethel, No. 8, Roseburg Job's Daughters, will hold a talent show at 8 o'clock tonight, April 29, at the Masonic temple. A candy sale will also be held and a fashion review of bathing suits in vogue as far back as 1890 will be shown. The public is invited to attend. Spends Day In Eugene Mrs. Raymond Parslow of Roseburg spent Wednesday in E-igene visit ing and attending lo business. She accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Robert Middelburg. who returned to their home at Albany, following a visit here with Mr. Middelburg's moth er, Mrs. M. F. Middelburg. Will Visit Relatives Mrs. B. H. Laird of Roseburg Is leaving Friday for Independence, Mo., to visit her brother-in-law and sis ter, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Living ston (formerly Eunice Smith of Roseburg); another sister, Mrs. Verna Laird, and her Barents. Mr. and Mrs. William Smith. She will later go to Omaha, Nebr. for a visit with her brother-in- law and sister. Mr. and Mrs. A. Livingston (Lila Smith of Rose burg), and their daughter, Pa tricia. Republican and Democratic na tional committees ran into thp red in financing the first 'two months of this campaign year, i But the national Wallace for President Committee, the CIO Political Action Committee and Americans for Democratic Action said they spent less than they took in. The financial records on dis play in the office of the clerk of the house included: The Republican National com mittee showed contributions of $90,834.41 and expenses of S129; 492.64, a difference of $38,658.23. The Democratic National com mittee said it received $16,022 and spent $190,861, a difference ol $174,839. The Wallace committee said it took in $65,647 and paid out $55,417, leaving $10,230 in the war chest. HEADLINES CARD Dallas Bennett, 180 pounds, Roseburg's "fighting cop," will meat Loo Talbot, 185, Portland, in the main event of Roseburg's first professional boxing card in many months, May 4, at the Armory.
