Stassen claimed at Omaha yes terday that he will top all re publican presidential candidates with 300 votes on the first nomi nating ballot at Philadelphia. He said he Is satisfied this will be greater than the total of any other candidate, Including Dewey and Taft. Taft. Dewey and Stassen gen erally are expected to be top runners in tomorrow's balloting here. In many Instances, Mrs. Gor rell said, the rural bourd did not allow as much for salaries for teachers as some districts had planned. The board did allow lor an over-all 10 per cent in- crease over present teachers' sal aries. If Individual school districts find it necessary to hold another budget election, the recommen dation Is being made that such elections be he held at the time of the regular school district elec tions on the third Monday in Juno, Mrs. Gorrell said. Total proposed operating bud get for the county schools is placed at 1,630,880.70 In the corn ing fiscal year. Estimated re ceipts and cash balances from sources other than taxation are placed at S763.013.56. The total tax levy Is $9:52,431.92. including S)(i9,223.68 within the 6 per cent limitation.
