Dr. Claude A. Watson of I os Angeles, the candidate, told his listeners that "the political par ties in power today are defintely accountable and morally respons ible lor the kind of government they give us." A man with a sense of humor. Dr. Watson said, yes, he "fully expected" to be elected president and jokingly told a reporter In his hotel room yesterdav after noon that Mrs. Watson, who was obviously catching up on her cor respondence, "Is making plans for the White House." Dr. Watson refutes any claim that Henry A. Wallace may have to represent the "third party." Actually, Dr. Watson points out. the Prohibition Party, organized in 1869, is the third party and manv of the causes it first cham pioned were later adopted by the major political parties. The presidential candidate was Introduced last night by the Rev. Walter A. MacArthur, pastor of the church, with whom he was acquainted a few years ago when MacArthur was a student at the Los Angeles Pacific college; Mac Arthur's then future wife was secretary to the president, and both had met Dr. Watson, a mem ber of the Free Methodist Church with which the college is associat ed. The Rev. Kenneth Harger. pas tor of the Roseburg Free Metho dist Church, delivered the open ing prayer at last night's meet ing.
