Oflicers installed by State Deputy Mildred Norman, Decem ber M, at KcllocK Grange hall were: master, Ionna Madison; overseer, Gary bullock; lecutrer. Loina Madison; steward, Jinimie Carnes; assistant steward. Frank Gill; chaplain, lietty Madison; treasurer, fJarlene Madr.son; sec retary, Joyce Ferguson; Kate keeper, Koger Madison; Ceres, Eetty Haines; Flora, Janet Fish er: Himona, 'Jheresa Adams; lady assistant steward, Nancy Fisher. State Juvenile Super intendent, Hilda Heiher, ot North tend, was present for t'te Instal lation and later in the day con ducted the Juvenile Matrons School, which was atendod by Mrs. Martin from I;mp county; Mrs. Roberts of Smith Kiver and Mrs. Rader of Kellogg. The Kellogg Home Economics club ladies furnished the cocoa for the sack luncheon at noon, followed by the regular cUb meet ing. New members taken info Kellogg Grange, No. nil, last Saturday evening were Hill Smth and Edith Edwards and Janice Gill. HUBBARD CREEK NEEDLE CLUB HAS MEETING The second meeting of the Hub bard Creek Needle Club was en Joyed Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Thclma I-conard. The first meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Sadie McKinney, Decem ber 3rd. The group enjoyed the social hour sewing and visiting, after which refreshmnls were served to Mrs. Verneta Heery and daugh ters, Jo Ann and Catherine; Mrs. Ollie Feery, Mrs. Sadie McKin ney, Mrs. fclla Teller, Mrs. Merle Polk. Mrs. Alice Germond, Mrs. Catherine Roeder, Mrs. Joyce fcriggs, Mrs. Melba Gern.ond and daughter, Paula; Mrs. Thelma Li'onard, the hostess, and her children, Lonnie, Lynn, 1'at and Mary. Tlie club's name was chosen at this meeting. The next meeting will le January 21 at the home of Mrs. Catherine Roeder. CAMP AND AUXILIARY TO MEET AT DINNER George Starmer Camp and Auxiliary to United Spanish War Veterans will meet at the armory Monday evening for a six o'clock dinner, to be followed by the two organisations holding "their re spective business sessions. Elec tion of officers will be held. Those attending the dinner are request ed to bring their own t ible ser vice. All memlM-rs are urged to be present as several Important matters will be discussed. CLUB HAS ENJOYABLE BANQUET SUTHERLIN Wed n e s d a y evening the Past Noble Grands Club met for B banouet at the Sutherlln Hotel, which was serv ed by Mrs. Mary Kooth. The long linen-covered table was centered with a kewpie doll on a mirror with greenery and flanked bv tall lighted tapers. A most delicious fried chicken dinner was served to: Mrs. Mary Barker, Miss Francis Torrey, Mrs. Vierlyn liixler. Mrs. Made line Hansen, Mrs. Edna Powers. Miss Francine I'rbin. Mrs. Vera Swift, Mrs. Amy Wood, guests, and the following tnenilM-rs: Mrs. fiertha Marge, Mrs. Anna Hall. Mrs. Ruth Manning Mrs. Velmu Hrauninger, Mrs. Lucille Chase, Mrs. Mable Ross Mis. Mrs. Vcrn Ilolgate favored with two solos, "In the Carden of Mv Heart" and "Smiles.' accom panied at the piano by Mrs. Ross. The roll call was answered by re peating a favorite verse or quota Hon. Ihe game of writing and Judg ing the best resolution was won by Mis. Anderson. The resolution was: "Iti-solved to do more and say less." Mrs. Ilolgate won the prize for guessing the name of the erson who wrote the resolu tion and whom it fitted. Mrs. Manning won the penny prize furnished by Mrs. Barge. The next meeting, in February, Mrs. Cora Allen will be hostess and the place of meeting will be announced later. A vote of thanks was extended to Mrs. Booth for putting on such a nice banquet and the secretary was Instructed to. write her to this effect. EPISCOPAL ANNUAL MEETING TO BE MONDAY The annual congregational meeting and election of officers of St. George's Episcopal Church will he held at a six thirty o' clock potluck dinner Monday eve ning, January 1!, at the parish house on East Cass street. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish or salad. All mem bers of the church and congrega tion are cordially invited. Whit comb, department secretary, Portland, were Ihe principle speakers of the afternoon, divid ing the Auxiliary program be tween them to give a detailed picture of the organization and its many projects. Mrs. Grace I)ettcfscn of Coquille, district president, had charge of the meeting. Mrs. Karl York, de partment child welfare chairman, Medlord, conducted a short meet ing of Ihe child welfare chair men of the listrict. The evening session will he held at a joint banquet at the Hotel I'mpqua. Jack Maris, department com mander, and Mrs. Covner, will be the principle shakers. IVlc rates are expected to attend from the entire district. In the department party will be Mr. and Mrs. Jack Maris, C an yonville, Mr. and Mrs. Kelly nv cns. vice-commander. HOLDS MEETING SUTHERLIN The regular meeting of the Parent Teachers Club was held Monday evening in the new school building with a good attendance of Darents. A I vry lovely ptogram was put on i by Mrs. Osborne's fifth graders I with much talent being demon strated. The business meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. Kenneth Briscoe. Mr. Ayres, superintendent of Sutherlin schools, gave a very in teresting talk on budgets, con cerning teachers' pay and urged everyone to get but to vote when It was presented. A count was taken by Mrs. Mathewman for the largest num ber of parents present with Mrs. Thompson's room winning the aouar priie. It was decided to have the next benefit card party on January 24th and everyone is urged to at tend. At a late hour a delicious lunch was served by the committee in charge. WILBUR LADIES AID HOLDS MEETING WILBUR The Ladies Aid met Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Ed Russell. An all-day session was enjoyed, with a potluck lucheon at noon. Mrs. John E. Thomas, president, conducted the meeting and Mrs. D. P. McKay presented the devotions. Plans were made for further meetings to tie a quilt to be sent to an adop ted family In Hungary. Two new members were welcomed into the society. Those present were Mrs. Mira Wilson, Kirs. Menzie Lee, Mrs Virgil Smith, Mrs. Bruce, Mrs. Jesse Russell, Mi's. Chancellor, Mrs. Rosella Bridge, Mrs. Harry Dawson, Mrs. Charles Sands, Mrs. W. R. Kinsel, Mrs. Dorothy Moffllt, Mrs. J. W. Torgerson. Mrs. L. W. Watkins, Mrs. Ray mond Brown, Mrs. D. P. JUNIOR WOMAN'S CLUB TO MEET AT POTLUCK The Junior Woman's Club will meet at a seven-thirty o'clock pot luck dinner Monday night at the armory with June Clayton, Ethel Van Voorst, Jean Turner and Mrs. Robert Elliott in charge. Members are asked to bring a covered dish, salad or dessert and their own table service. Those attending are also asked to each bring a dime for the col lection to purchase a new book for the Roseburg Public Library. Visiting and music were the diver sion of the evening, after which delicious refreshments were serv ed to: Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lun ney, Mr. and Mrs. Kremkeau, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Maddox, Mr. and Mrs. Wales, Mr. and Mrs. Currier, Miss Beverley Lunney, James' Wales and Mr. and Mis. Lunney. AUDITING COMMITTEE HOLDS MEETING SUTHERLIN The auditing committee of the Sutherlin Re bekah Lodge, consisting of Mrs. Mable Ross, Mrs. Hazel Green, Mrs. Ella Wegner. Mrs. Leona Slack, Mrs. Juanita Holgate and Mis. cnariotte farKer, met at the Wegner home Monday eve ning to audit the lodge books for the past term. Alter the books were audited Mrs. Wegner served a delicious supper. MERCHANTS LUNCH TO BE SERVED JAN. 21 The Woman's Society will sponsor a Merchants Lunch from eleven to two o'clock Wednes day, January 21, at the First Presbyterian Church. Ihe ham luncheon will feature home-made pies for dessert. Mrs. Armour Murdock is general chairman, assisted by Mrs. L. G. Twohy and Mrs. J. P. Motschenbacher. The public is cordially invited.
