Presentation was made by Dor othy Teater, V. F. W. Auxiliary hospital director, Department of Oregon, who was introduced by Fred Sears, recreation director of the Roseburg Veterans Hospital. The Rifts were accepted bv Doc tor Kenneth Kinney of the hos pital staff and he told briefly how J lin-y wouiii IH- ust-u in iiiumiiii therapy in forming an orchestra. Mrs. Teater told how often she had observed that music seemed to give more pleasure to the vet erans nt the hospital than any other form of entertainment so music has been the keynote in program planning the past year. A class in music appreciation is held each week and also a class In dance instruction. A radio partv also is enjoyed by the men each week and thev have the pleasure of hearing their own re quests over the air. Memliers of the V. F. W. Auxiliary, gives many hours of her time instructing the veterans In popular dance steps. Leon Glasscox of Willamette Post No. 2!I3 of Eugene was then introduced and he presented a lovely Baldwin -lano, a gift from the members of his Post and Auxiliary. Fields Upheld WASHINGTON, Jan. in. re conviction of Benjamin F. Fields for contempt of Congress was, in effect, upheld yesterday by the Supreme Court. The high tribunal refused to hear an appeal filed by Fields, war surplus broker, from his trial in federal court here.
