S. Hall as chairman, will be held Sunday evening, November 23. at s.'ven-thirty o'clock at the First Presbyterian Church. Mis. E. A. Collier, Salem, a for mer resident of this city and now president of Willamette Presby terial, will be the speaker of the evening. Mm. Lester Nielsen will present a vocal solo and a trio number will be sung bv Mrs. Aus tin, Mrs. Lozier and Mrs. Plum mer. Mrs. Howard Ott and Miss Elnor Sherk will have a part on the seivlce program. INVITES PUBLIC TO THANKSGIVING DANCE NEXT THURSDAY The Business and Professional Women's Club has issued a most cordial Invitation to the public to enjoy Its annual Thanksgiving dance to be held from ninethlrty to twelve-thirty o'clock Thanks giving evening, Novemlier 27, at the Armory. Mrs. Story lies and Mrs. L. L. Spencer are general chairmen of the affair and are being assisted by a largo numlx-r of memtiers of the club. Vic Rice's orchestra has been engaged to furnish the music for the affair. Proceeds of the dance will be used to carry out civic projecls sponsored by the club. ROSEBURG CIRCLE HAS NOVEMBER MEETING The November meeting of the Roseburg Circle was held at the home of Mrs. M. C. Mix. Reports were given by committees and a discussion was held regarding the rummage sale, which was held November 1. 1 he committee ex pressed appreciation to all per- sons making the sale so success. lul. the group voted in favor of sMnsoring another such sale early In the spring. ine next meeting will be held December 2 at 2 o'clock at the home of Mrs. George A Johnson. This concert was previously dialed for Novem ber 2ith and memlwrs are asked to take note of the change of the concert date. Asia For cv ' a:d PFAS UMPQUA MINERAL CLUB HAS MEETING The Umpqua Mineral Club held its regular November meeting on Thrusday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Wwxls on Hamilton street, wilh Mis. Manuela Hutching and Mis. Hilda Peterson as co-hostess". Reports of the Mineral Show committees were heard and Les lie Roberts produced for the club's approval one of the 12 dis play cases he had Just completed for the Mineral Exhibit. Jack Wharton and Ait Evans were apxinted a committee of two for the purpose of securing a permanent meeting place for the club which is becoming too large to continue meeting at the member's hom"s. A nominating committee consisting of Evere.t Teater, Leslie Roberts and Mrs. Roy Rose were apointed to in vestigate officer material for the coming year. The meeting ended on a note of hilarity and abandon when sev eral choice mineral sjM'cimens were auctioned off to fortunate high bidders. Prior to the business session Mrs. Hutchins, Mis.
