Oct. 21-t.P) The Bureau of Ri-clamnlion yes terday opened 3.Sf2 acres of ir rigated farm lands in the fertile Tule Lake division of the Kla math irrigation project on the ' California-Oregon border to set tlement by 44 families. The land, lirsl on the proposed Modoc unit, is an area which has been without a crop failure for 25 years. It is the eighth major land opi ning, and the second on the Klamath project since the end of the war, in the Reclamation Bureau's program to provide farm settlement opportunities for war veterans. The 44 farms, ranging from 70 to 110 acres, lie within the for mer boundaries of Tule lake. Irom which Jl.otjf) acres have been reclaimed by drainage.
