Linda w ill visit her j paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ben-1 nett, and Jimmy will visit at the home of his maternal gramlmoth er, Mrs. C, G. Wassom. Return to Euaene Mr. and Mrs. William Calhoun and son, j Billy, have returned to their i home in Eugene, following the weekend in Roseburg visiting j Mrs. Calhoun's brother and sister-1 in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Darley Ware. Visiting Parents Corporal John S. Austin, U. S. Air Forces, arrived Tuesday by plane from Fort Monmouth, N. J., to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Aus tin. He slopiM'd over en route to an A. T. C. base in Caiilornia, where he will be given his next assignment. Arrives From East Mrs. Ben Ehving. nee Elaine Fett. and baby daughter. Marilyn, arrived by plane this wifk from Lewiston. Mich., to visit indefinitely with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sig I ett, on Harvard ave nue. Mr. Kitting is en( route west to join his family and is making the trip by automobile. Slater of Toledo, O., are cxiec(d to arrive in Roseburg this weekend to visit with their nephew and nie"e, Mr. and .mis. ti. L. .Martin, at SJ(i E'ist Court street. The Si? lers are at present visiting points of in terest in Washington. From Roseburg. they expect to go to Los Ani'cles and other points in Southern California. MacKillop and daughter, Susan, have left for their home In Long Beach, Calif., following several weeks in Roseburg at the home of Mr. and Mrs. P. T. Buhar, where Mrs. MacKillop, nee Paul ine Buhar, has been critically ill. The MacKiiiups had come to Roseburg on a vacation, when Mrs. MacKillop was stricken. She is reported to be steadily Improv ing and is now able to sit up a part of every day. .She will join her family in Long Beach as soon as she Is sullciently recov ered from her Illness. Visiting Relatives Mr. and Mrs. Otis Denny of Iowa, La., ar rived in Eugene by plane Sunday and then came to Roseburg to spend 10 days vacationing and visiting the latter's mother, Mrs. Anna Coffell; her two brothers, C. A. and Dan Coffell, and her sister, Mrs. Dale Bolsinger, and their respective families. They were accompanied on the plane by their nephew, lion Colfell, who recently received his honor able discharge from the navy at Pensacola, Fla., and has been visiting at the Denny home in Louisiana. He is now back with his parents in Roseburg. This is Mr. Denny's first trip to Orepnn. Visit Over Weel-.end Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Carstens, Jr., of Port land spent the weekend in Rose burg visiting the former's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Car stens. Sr., in Laurelwojd. Mrs. Carstens, Jr., Is the former Alice M. Wagner, who was employed as secretary In the offices of At torney Harrison Winston in Rose burg prior to her marriage to Mr. Carstens in Eugene, September 17. Rev. Mr. McCullum of the Eugene Christian Church per formed the ceremony and only relatives attended. Mr. Carstens served six years in the U. S. Johnson. The Chovlers for merly made their home in Rose burg. Former Residents Here Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miiier of Sacra mento, Calif., are in Roseburg lslting the formers sister and niece. They will also visit with old friends and neighbors on Harrison street, where they resided for many years prior to moving to Sacra mento. Spend Weekend Here Mr. and Mrs. Tom Collins came to" Rose burg from Portland to spend the weekend while the former attend ed a conference with Commander Jack Maris of the American Le gion in connection with the com manders' and adjutants' confer ence to be held at Indianapolis, October 26-27-28. Mr. Collins, state adjutant for the American Legion, returned to Portland yes terday and from there will leave for the conference. Mrs. Collins is remaining meanwhile in Rose burg.
